5 out of 5 stars Superbly Well Written and Thought Out. A+ Highly Recommend   July 21, 2008

Ron Paul very concisely and convincingly gets his points across in The Revolution A Manifesto. First off this book is not for the politically closed minded meaning those who are offended by anyone that has a political opinion that differs from theirs.

This book is for anyone who is into politics and government who wishes to read about practical non liberal and non neoconservative solutions to political, economical, and international problems facing America today.

The main points in the book are: an argument for American troop withdraw in many countries around the world including Iraq; a withdraw of aggressive American international diplomacy of using sanctions and war guarantees to back other nations into a corner; the elimination of the Federal Income tax so that Americans no longer spend 1.5-3.5 hours of their 8 hour workday working for the government via taxes; a brief mention of withdraw from international organizations such as the WTO (formerly GATT) to ensure a greater free market; an argument for the removal of the Federal Reserve and the Fed's fiat currency; the removal of many government agencies which have failed to protect Americans and have failed to deliver their promises; to stop increasing budget and size of government departments which have failed or fallen into bankruptcy.

Again if you are someone who is offended by even considering these ideas, then do not read this book. If you are someone who is interested in finding out more about these ideas then you should read this book. Although I am on board with Ron on about 75-80% of his ideas, I believe that you could disagree with most of his ideas and still enjoy this book. Although I think most who read this book will probably agree with 65-100% of what Ron is advocating.

5 out of 5 stars Read Ron Paul   July 21, 2008
If you care about your future in America, you need to read this book. Ron Paul has the insight to stop the economic and morale drain from the US of A and return to the integrity of the US constitution.

5 out of 5 stars A True Conservative   July 20, 2008

In a time when corporate welfare is out of control due to the pseudo-conservative Republicans in power , it's refreshing to hear real conservative ideals that truly come from deep inside the heart of someone who ran for the Republican party.

Ron Paul is one of the few conservatives out there actually advocating real conservative values. This book is small, but all his ideas are very simple and clear....so they don't need to be in a large book...because it is all obvious information to a true conservative.

4 out of 5 stars I love the Austrian School of thought...but the GWoT is a nessisary evil...   July 19, 2008

26 June 2008 - This Manifesto derives from decades of principled defense of freedom, peace, and sound money. It convincingly and eloquently advances the Libertarian philosophy. Ron Paul covers liberty, Austrian economics, the Federal Reserve, the free market, the welfare state, and the warfare state. I think he brilliantly covers each of these topics expect I have doubts about removing the military from overseas. I do agree that we can not afford to keep the troops at their present levels but do think the security risk is greater than we current could imagine.

5 out of 5 stars My #1 book of the year!   July 18, 2008

A concisely written platform for the movement behind the message of 2008 GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul, MANIFESTO diagnoses American sicknesses, and proceeds to offer sensible solutions that can work NOW. I have come to believe that Paul's brand of conservative policy are the only way. He is my personal hero.
