5 out of 5 stars Keep this book in your car!!   August 9, 2008
I love this book! I never know if I'm going to have to eat out so I keep this book in my car. It has helped me keep off the 20lbs I lost over a year ago.

5 out of 5 stars Eat This, Not That   August 8, 2008
What an eye opener! Also, lots of surprises, to think we are eating this junk and are still alive. Luckily, there are alternatives provided. I bought it for my children and all of my co-workers.

5 out of 5 stars Simple Advice   August 8, 2008
This book is full of simple swaps from restaurants that I regularly visit. Some changes are obvious but others are quite surprising. It's small enough to fit in my car's side pocket. I can review things before I hit the drive thru or join friends out for dinner. It also has suggestions for shopping changes. It's super simple!

3 out of 5 stars It's ok... lots of common sense... ALL JUNK FOOD!   August 7, 2008

Well, the trouble with this book is... well, it deals almost exclusively with fast food or junk food. If you really want to lose weight, I don't think you're making stops at Wendy's everyday, or questioning why you gained three pounds after those four Big Mac meals. I could be wrong. For example, do you want to cut calories out? Drink only water or unsweetened tea. There you have it. No need for a chapter about 'fruit drinks' or sodas. They will all make you fat. It's a bitter (or sweet, as the case may be) truth.

Still, it's fun to flip through, and has some interesting parts. There is a section on typical bar and diner menus which was pretty neat, and I liked the section on beer (although, not surprisingly, the light beers all had the lowest calories). The pictures are bright and there are plenty of colorful graphics. Most impotantly, this might be most useful to parents - I know how much junk I ate as a kid - who want to at least curb the caloric intake of their ravenous children.

Come to think of it, it's just 'fun to flip through'. Mostly common sense, lots of pictures, and a few surprises. Just be sure you understand, when they say 'food swaps', it isn't tilapia for sole they're talking about, it's McSalad instead of McBurger.

5 out of 5 stars This is a GREAT little book!   August 3, 2008
This is one of the first so-called diet books that I have read completely. I realize that it's not the "end-all" diet, but it sure has some good stuff in it. The 8 foods you should eat every day and the 20 to avoid at all costs is worth the cost alone. Good common sense advise on how to choose foods from fast-food and take-out. I keep it in my car for the times I am out and have no choice but fast-food.
