ChefMD Big Book August 8, 2008 I like this book very much. It's readable - not bogged down with a lot of boring information that I wouldn't be interested in anyway. Over the past 3 months I have lost 21 lbs. and I feel confident that 20 more will come off over the next couple of months. How? I removed ALL high fructose corn syrup from my diet and buy organic whenever possible. I have also found the recipes in the book to be very helpful.
ChefMD's Big Book of Culinary Medicine August 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
ChefMD's Big Book of Culinary Medicine is a fabulous book. I have read it and re-read many sections of it. I began his regime for osteoarthritis and have had huge success. I am off painkillers and walking much, much better. I feel like I have experienced a miracle.
Eating better August 8, 2008
The book is very comprehensive, and I hope to get lots of ideas from it, and a chance for better health!
exotic, interesting August 7, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The article I read about this book lead me to expect a more of a reference-type book..."if you have a cold, eat this soup because it contains....", but it's not. The first part is more of the health info I'm reading everywhere, although the author is quite funny, and it's easy to read. (Warning: if you'll be offended by crass humor and extramarital sex references, you'll be offended!) The recipe part is fun. The things we've tried were amazing, but not worth buying the book for. Though my family typically eats well, many of these recipes are a little too exotic to be useful for us on a regular basis. If you have crystallized ginger and agave in your kitchen already, you'll be in good shape. It's not really bad, but it's not what I wanted. I'd recommend checking this out from the library first to see if it's what you really want.
Not Impressed August 7, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The print is too small in this edition, there are no photographs of any of the prepared dishes. It is too wordy and has the appearance and the very similar format of a text book. The content is for the most part good but the presentation is poor in my opinion, obviously the publisher did not do it justice.
