Bob Bondurant on Race Kart Driving September 22, 2005 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I recently started racing go-karts and wanted to buy a book with some racing secrets and of course tips on proper racing techniques etc. I found that I knew most of want the book had to offer. In other words I did not find the book helpful to me in improving my racing skills. I felt that this book would benefit a first time rider someone starting out with 3 to 6 months or some one that just does not have the competitive edge due to lack of racing techniques and skills. I did think it was easy to read and explained racing techniques very well. I wish I had red this book a year ago. I learned these techniques the hard way (trial and error). I was able to read the entire book with in 2 hours and it was easy to refer back to curtain techniques that I wanted to share or simply read again. This is a great book for some one new to racing.

Great book, soo I expect something more technical about engine preparation and tire preassure, but in about technical drive it's excelent for rocky. The book was for my 8 years son, he love it.
This book helped me drive faster. May 4, 2005 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
As a rookie KART driver, I had a rough idea of what to do (right, left, forward) and what not to do (up, down, backwards). Bob's book gave me a mental baseline from which to approach a systematic improvement program. After that, it's pretty much up to me, as it should be. I'd recommend this to anyone seeking to improve.
Good for beginners, but... October 25, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bondurant's karting book is a good book if you haven't read any other books on race driving technique. If you have, however, the majority of the book reads like a summary of Ross Bentley's "Speed Secrets" series. There are only three our four chapters that are really specific to karting (I was hoping for more, unfortunately), but they discuss topics where karting may differ the most from other forms of motorsport.
If you have a child or teen interested in karting, this is a good starting point for them, if only to motivate them to read more in-depth books such as Bentley's "Speed Secrets" series or Carroll Smith's "...To Win" books.
Great book for whom want to drive faster! November 3, 2003 I am beginner of Kart. This book is great eye opener for me. Bob describes things very logical and in structured way which helped me to understand points clearly. Thanks Bob.
