1 out of 5 stars Very VERY Disappointed   July 11, 2008

Sam's Letters to Jennifer and Suzanne's Diary for Nicolas are two of my favorite books so I couldn't wait to read this one however I wish I had those hours of my life back. I kept waiting for there to be something to make me think reading about a imaginary person was going to make sense but it never did. It was totally ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever. I couldn't even find any sort of underlying message, it was just a total wast of time and I am totally disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars True romantic fiction   July 11, 2008
I love all of Patterson's Cross novels, but his romantic fiction novels are some of the best I have ever read. Those who say they are unreal and sappy have no romance or imagination left inside them. This is a wonderful read - fun, romantic, and made me smile all over!!!

2 out of 5 stars Patterson's Name is a Commodity   July 10, 2008

First of all, James Patterson did not write this. He couldn't have. Being a published author myself, it is impossible for writers to put out 2-3 books a year like he supposedly does. I suspect the publisher is merely slapping his name on it and leaving the co-author to write the book as evidenced by the quality of this book. The plot line is an interesting premise but the characterization, plot and language is very one-dimensional and dumbed down. I wish Patterson would pick up a pen again and start writing good quality stuff instead of making a profit from his co-authors. Shame on you, Mr. Patterson, for becoming a commodity.

1 out of 5 stars Uggghhhh   July 10, 2008

If I could rate this book half a star I would. I'm so glad I didn't BUY this book (checked it out from the library) because I couldn't read more then 10 pages. This book is written for pre-teens or for "teeny-boppers" (to use a very antiquated term). I mean, this is less than chic-lit (worse than?), which I happen to enjoy during the summer (Jane Greene, Sophie Kinsella, Marion Keyes). Bottom line, this book has NO depth, worse than a "light read" and my brain experienced negative energy in order to read the few pages I did. I really hope I'm conveying the message here to all you veteran Patterson fans. Plus, the font is so big, and the margins so wide that the book is about half the size of what it appears to be. Quit wasting my time!!!! What happened to the James Patterson of Alex Cross?

1 out of 5 stars James patterson?   July 9, 2008
There is something wrong with a child having an adult imaginary friend-who turns into her lover when she becomes an adult. I usually enjoy James Patterson books - but this story is just wrong and unbelievable.
