5 out of 5 stars Emotional roller-coaster   August 18, 2008
In this book, I noticed that Bella's emotions became my emotions, obviously connecting with her from Twilight, and carried forward in this stellar sequel. Depressing, riveting, and exciting!

Just as good as Twilight.

5 out of 5 stars Adults Love The Twilight Series Too!   August 17, 2008

As a 39 year old Mother of two young boys, this is NOT my typical type of book to read. I've never been one for horror, mystery or science fiction. I don't generally read books aimed at young adults (except Harry Potter). Too many adults I knew raved about these books and finally I couldn't ignore their recommendations. I bought the first and second book in the series, thinking that if I didn't like them I wouldn't have invested too much money or time. Well, I'm hooked and now I've purchased the other two as well. These books are pure entertainment and a great way to escape at the end of my busy days. To any adult that may be thinking that these books are not for them...give Twilight a try, you won't be disappointed!

4 out of 5 stars New Moon   August 17, 2008
I enjoyed this book better than Twilight. There seemed to be more action in the first part of the book than the previous one. The book only dragged on for me at the end when the action switched to Italy and Bella was no longer with Jacob. I guess I'm officially on Team Jacob because I thought he was a better match for Bella than Edward. Bella and Jacob actually did things together. It seems to me that whenever Bella and Edward are together all they do is tell each other how much they admire each other. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series, which I wasn't sure I would want to do when I started the book.

5 out of 5 stars intoxicating   August 17, 2008

I did not think this set of "sagas" would capture me. Being older and all. But from the first page of "Twilight" to now entering the third book, I found myself intoxicated. I want to read slower to make the enjoyment last, but alas I cannot.....hmmmmmm book five when?????????

4 out of 5 stars A great sequile   August 16, 2008
As a middle novel in a multivolume edition, New Moon is better than average. It did start out slowly but once it got going it quickly made it back up to the quality of Twilight (the first book in the series). The first 100 pages were hard for me to get through but they set up a lot of what happens later on so they were necessary. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars but you can't give a half of a star on Amazon so it gets 4 but it really should be 4 and a half.
