| Customer Reviews:
Fun August 20, 2008 We gave this to our daughter for her 9th birthday and the whole family has enjoyed it (grownups, 9, 7, 4 and baby!) We've enjoyed listening to birds we don't normally hear and matching birds to the sounds we hear all the time.
Backyard Birdsong August 13, 2008 This is a great book. I showed it to birding friends and I bought three more and two others have purchased four more for gifts to friends and relatives that enjoy bird watching. It's great for kids to get them interested in bird watching. The Backyard Birdsong Guide: Eastern and Central North America (Backyard Birdsong Guides)
Amateur birders delight July 28, 2008 This book is great for a novice or amateur birder of any age. Some of the smaller birds are very difficult to find in the trees, but their songs are heard over and over again. If a birder has it narrowed down to a few birds, hearing the calls and reading the descriptions in this book will be very helpful in identifying which bird is there. The maniacal owl call is worth the purchase of the book by itself. There are books with CD-ROM's and DVD's that have bird songs, but this one is easy for those of us who are not equipped with Ipods or other electronic devices to take outside.
Wonderful to identify birds July 24, 2008 When confused what bird is singing or calling in your backyard, this helps alot to identify and learn. Now you've learned a new bird to recognize.
Worth every penny July 24, 2008 After moving to an area where I wasn't familiar with the songbirds this book has been a treasure. The songs are so real some of the birds come to sit nearby.
