Warmongering tripe July 9, 2008 4 out of 18 found this review helpful
Ill-researched, dogmatic and demented - classic warmongering, in which religion plays its usual reactionary role. For example, US tele-evangelist Jim Robison opened a Republican National Convention by saying, "There will be no peace until Jesus comes. Any preaching of peace prior to this return is heresy. It is against the word of God. It is anti-Christ." This is a mirror-image of bin Laden's rhetoric - a tiny fanatical minority talking big to frighten us. Rosenberg is the same - frighten us into hysteria, to justify attacking countries that are no threat.
Great Correlation Between Prophecy and Current Politics July 6, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Rosenberg rehearses what many other Bible prophecy buffs have written over the decades (including Hal Lindsey) as it relates to the predicted invasion of Israel from the North, possibly by Russia, Turkey, and Iran.
What makes Rosenberg's work unique is his political connections of Steven Forbes and Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as his many sources for information within Iran and his expertise in happenings within Iraq.
Like many prophetic works over the decades, Rosenberg postulates that Biblical events are about to unfold very, very soon. While I believe this possible, it is an assumption that has proven wrong time and time again (eventually someone will guess right!).
The Events in Ezekiel 37-39 can be decades or even a century down the road. The stage has been set for decades, but the play need not begin for many years.
Rosenberg writes from a Premillennial viewpoint (a viewpoint I share). Although the work is not scholarly from a theological perspective, it is unique in that few people are in a position to glean all the insights Rosenberg shares with us.
Epicenter: Awesome book by Joel Rosenberg! June 19, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Epicenter: Why Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your Future This is an amazing book that helps understand today's history through the filter of Bible Prophecy. I don't agree with the author 100%, but then I don't agree with my spouse all the time either. The book contains LOTS of up-to-date information about what is going on in "the church," meaning believers all over the world. Surprising first-hand reports from Muslim countries, and other unexpected places! Very very good!!
Epicenter: Why Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your Future June 9, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
The Epicenter is an excellent amalgamation of the historical and current affairs of not only the middle east but also the world and how it is reworking the future. All this is based on extraction from biblical sources. An exciting read which challenges the darkest fears of man kind.
