5 out of 5 stars A Novel   August 13, 2008
I loved this book and thought Jodi did a fantastic job with the story line, making the reader empathize with the characters even if we couldn't understand their motives or feelings.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect   August 13, 2008
I went on line - ordered two books - paid on line - they arrived a few days later - read the books - enjoyed the books - this is what summer is all about. A perfect way to "shop".

1 out of 5 stars Was feeling real nauseous by the time I got to the end   August 12, 2008

Seriously, I was feeling ill and it had nothing to do with the blood and gore content of the book. It was because the book was so huge and the writing so bad and confusing I had a huge headache trying to get through everything and then having to flip back pages whenever I got confused (mainly due to the intro of a character or whatnot). The book was 400 pages of cliche cliche cliche. Every single cliche from shows such as "Degrassi" was 'lovingly' jammed into this story that was to mainly focuse on school shootings and at the same time cliches from other films such as "Elephant" are jammed into the mix as well to make this book much longer and pointless than it already was.

And Jodi Picoult says that she did research on the subject...PUH-LEASE! All she did judging from the writing of this novel was grab a bunch of old newspapers from past school shootings and used that. This book is not the best representation on the subject. Then again, I dont think that there has ever been a good book or movie on the subject. The twist wasnt all that great, a bit too predictable. Something tells me that Jodie Picoult is on her way to being the M. Night Shamalayn of the published novel industry.

4 out of 5 stars Interesting and well written...   August 12, 2008
I think I liked the concept of My Sister's Keeper better, but the writing was beautiful.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Novel.   August 11, 2008
This novel was amazing. I am an avid reader and have read many novels and gone through many writers throughout my life, but Jodi Picoult is absolutely astounding. This novel has so many twists and turns and I must admit, it gets boring in some sections, but then something drastic happens that makes up for it all. Definitely an A+++!! I would recommend this to anyone!
