4 out of 5 stars Nice Product   May 21, 2008

Bought some of this along with tire shine and glass cleaner. I used to use the Mr. Clean Auto Dry system. This works as good as Mr. Clean, only it doesn't suds up as much (I'm not sure that more suds means something cleans better). The only odd things I noticed are that the wash water forms hexagonal shapes when applied to windows, and the wash rag stayed alomst completely white. When I use the Mr. Clean system the rag turns black.

Nontheless, my black car was clean and it was fairly easy to wash off most dirt and grime. I did have to use elbow grease on the bugs that were stuck, but I have yet to find a wash that makes it easy to remove baked on bug splatter.

Update - I would now give this product 5 stars as I have found that it does NOT leave any spots on my car, even on 100 + degree days!

5 out of 5 stars Finally! A Good-Mom Car Wash!   May 20, 2008

Who ever would have thought that a Car Wash would make me feel like a Good-Mom? But finally, there is a car wash that I don't have to feel guilty that the suds are working their way into the street drain...and I don't have to worry about my kids helping my husband wash the car. In the past, I have worried about the chemicals of the other car washes on their skin and now, I just don't have to worry!

5 out of 5 stars Works just like good car soap should - only it's good for you!   May 20, 2008

I found this at my local car accessory place, and decided to give it (as well as a couple of their other products) a go. I'm got a black Subaru Impreza, which is parked on the street (no driveway) and rarely gets washed, so it can acquire a good amount of dirt.

I'll agree that the stuff ours like water - it is not viscous at all, so I was worried that it might not be "soapy" enough. Once the water hit it my fears abated - this stuff suds up great, even with COLD water! My previous natural car washing soap would only work with warm water, so this is way better!

It worked just as well as it should - it cleaned the car splendidly. And, I didn't have to worry about the suds splashing in my eyes or my dog lapping it up - since it's not harmful in any way. Even in the direct sun, the car looks almost new now! I'm very pleased, and am certain that this is the only car wash for me - as least for the foreseeable future. I can't see why anyone would buy a normal carwash soap when this stuff works so well and is nearly perfect in terms of the environment. I mean heck, the bottle is 100% recycles and recyclable, even the label is printed on recycled paper with soy ink. Crazy - and the stuff is cheaper than some other car washing soaps. Wow, very pleased indeed.

The only question I have is how well will it work on by boat? Even though it says "car" wash on the bottle, I plan to attack my boat with it this weekend. I can't think of a better soap to be rinsing directly into a river which provides drinking water. We'll see how it goes!

5 out of 5 stars Works Better Than Expected   May 17, 2008

Like any new eco-friendly product, I always have some skepticism until I actually try it. So I got my hands on the Green Earth Technologies car wash (among other G.E.T. products) and found an opportunity to use it - today! With a beautiful, sunny 70-degree morning, I figured the setting is just right to see how this car wash performed on my dirty 2007 Lexus GS350. Since it's black and relatively expensive, this might be a good test bed for my fellow novice detailers with black cars.

My first impression upon opening the bottle was: "where's that eco-friendly, bleachy smell I was expecting?" So I pour it into my bucket while trying to inhale as much fragrance as possible, but to no avail. I mean this stuff is virtually odorless. For some, that's ideal. But for me, I like stuff that smells good: after all, the majority of the car washes in my garage is Meguiar's product.

My second observation was that this is stuff has a really low viscosity. You pour it, and you think you are pouring green mouthwash. So knowing how well other "thicker" car washes get super-sudsy, my standards are a little high. I then take my hose and begin to fill my bucket with water. I soon find that my super-sudsy expectations are being met. Honestly, I don't know if the amount of suds really dictates the quality of your car wash. I just personally like it so it's easier for me to see where I've ran my wash mitt.

That's pretty much it in terms of the actual car washing. I followed my usual car wash routine (wash mitt wiping, rinse, repeat, and dry) and was pleasantly surprised with the results. Since I'm in the Pacific Northwest, I'm sure I'll see how it holds up after the next rainy day.

One thing I'd like to point out is that I have sensitive skin. And after the wash, I rinsed my hands with water and found that there's no funky residue that some other car washes or degreasers leave behind. And as you can imagine, this car was did not leave any smell on my hands. So I guess having it odorless is a plus.

I hope you found my review helpful. For today, I'm going to do something ironic: I'm going to drive around and waste a little gas to show off how well this eco-friendly product cleaned my Lexus!
