Not as good as the other pigeon books July 23, 2008 I mean, they just set such a high standard, really....
The thing is, my nieces don't find the jokes in this one that funny to start. I mean, they get them, but only once I kinda wink at them and highlight that "hey, that was just a joke", and it's not... that worth it. They request the earlier pigeon books much more often.
The ones at the end are easier for them, but by then the book is almost over.
Still a good book, just not as great as the others.
Another Great Pigeon Book July 20, 2008 Who doesn't love the pigeon? He has feelings we can all relate to at times. Mo Willems does not let us down in his latest book. But...we want MORE!!!
The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! July 10, 2008 My granddaughter, age 4, LOVES this book! We have all the Pigeon books by Mo Willems. They are all great! Simply said, cute illustrations, kids get it! 5 Stars
The Pigeon Wants a Puppy June 26, 2008 A delightful childrens book about a pigeon who thinks he wants a puppy with a surprise ending. My granddaughter loves this book!
"I WANT A PUPPY RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!!!" June 22, 2008 My daughter LOVES this book!!! One of the other reviewers wrote her child could relate to this book.. it is so true!!! If you read this book with the right inflections and with lots of expression, your child will love it too. Especially the page, "I want a puppy, right here right now!!" My daughter now reads that page to me when we come to it. And she laughs when I read it because I do think she can totally relate to the demanding tone of the pigeon. And when I read it, I try to sound just like my daughter when she tries those tactics with me. When we're done with the book, she likes to read it back to me. It's just the right length for a toddler and it's a fun book to read for parents.
