5 out of 5 stars Enjoyable for someone who does not watch TV   October 3, 2008
My teenage daughter got the 1st DVD at the video rental place. I do not watch TV (other than news) and so had no interest. But, she talked me into watching the pilot. It is a very well done show with a good blend of humor, action, and developing personalities and relationships. The comedy is not that stupid situation comedy stuff (lying and then spending the rest of the show trying to cover up the lies, etc), but more in terms of oddball personalities and quirks, stereotypes hammed up for laughs, and the like. The show is more serious than that makes it sound - it focuses a lot on relationships and slowly gives more and more insight into each person. The spies are not the usual empty-shells and yet are not just the other usual of "lost lover due to some nasty killer, so internally screwed up". The spies themselves are dual-personalities with stereotypes on the one side and slowly emerging people under. The action is integrated well for the most part, and does not feel just tacked on.
So far, it has been very enjoyable to watch.
My daughter was rolling on the floor at The OC party scene takeoff parody (music, slow motion, but not quite the normal characters). There are a lot of such little parodies like that along with quite a few inside Hollywood jokes.
Worth watching in my view.

5 out of 5 stars I loved it. Great start.   September 29, 2008

Loved the fact that they kept going back and forth between will he or won't he be killed since he has a "replacement" device. Of course Casey wasn't going to kill him.
However, it had so many ups and downs I did not know whether to be happy or disappointed. The fact that he could leave the Buy More, do other things, and in my opinion, I thought he was going to quit and become an official agent for CIA/NSA.
But then he ends up at Buy More, and it looks like we'll be in for maybe some of the same shticks that were in the last season, but seeing Chuck's new strain of ultra-confidence (LOVED THE CALL OF DUTY FAKE-OUT. BEST THING EVER!), they may take it beyond him being the 3rd wheel to him being some sort of leader, at least part-time.

I am optimistic and I am glad Chuck is back! And here to stay... :)

This episode was awesome. I fell in love with this show last year. I love that it is not too serious. I hope this show is on for a long time.

Once again, Chuck is filled with lots of humor, excitement and some romance. A new season started off with a bang! Chuck is one of our "must see" shows every week.

I really enjoyed this episode, I haven't watched Chuck for a while but now after seeing it once again I definitely am going to start watching once more.
