Product Description After fleeing Ojai, Nicholas, Sophie, Josh, and Scatty emerge in Paris, the City of Lights. Home for Nicholas Flamel. Only this homecoming is anything but sweet. Perenell is still locked up back in Alcatraz and Paris is teeming with enemies. Nicollo Machiavelli, immortal author and celebrated art collector, is working for Dee. He’s after them, and time is running out for Nicholas and Perenell. For every day spent without the Book of Abraham the Mage, they age one year—their magic becoming weaker and their bodies more frail. For Flamel, the Prophesy is becoming more and more clear.
It’s time for Sophie to learn the second elemental magic: Fire Magic. And there’s only one man who can teach it to her: Flamel’s old student, the Comte de Saint-Germain—alchemist, magician, and rock star. Josh and Sophie Newman are the world’s only hope—if they don’t turn on each other first.

Amazing book a must read August 20, 2008 The magician can only be described as AMAZING. i picked up this book expecting greatness and was still surprised that what a great book this was. A word of advice keep your computer close you will want... i take that back..NEED to look up the different things the author put into this book. its crazy how much detail was put into this book and those that have read lots of fiction will find themselves recalling facts that they have one read before. A must read
Wonderful! Fantastic! Continues a great story! August 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
There's nothing like turning world history on it's ear in such a believable way. Every chapter ends on a cliff-hanger and you have to keep going! The only disappointment is this second book isn't read by the same person as the first and it's a bit of an adjustment, but it certainly doesn't detract from the story itself.

A great sequel to The Alchemyst. The story moved well and the characters were well linked to the action. It was especially good how the author didn't dwell on the previous story but gave enough information to keep the reader up to date
This Series is the Next Big Thing!!! August 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Michael Scott has done it again! Book 2 definitely doesn't disappoint. This series is posed to become the next big thing. The cast of characters and quick paced writing will not allow you to put this book down. Its a great read and if you're anything like me it will leave you craving more.
Can't wait for the 3rd book!! August 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The 2nd book was just as good as the first. If you like this series I highly recommend.
