101 Projects for your Corvette April 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Book has many great ideas, but is lacking specific details. For instance: you can replace your weather stripping however there are no details as to how to do it.
Disappointed with the projects listed in the book August 23, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The projects listed in this book could be found in any service manual. And a true service manual would have done a better, more professional job describing the required step to complete the task. I expected 101 unique projects not a book of normal routine maintanence items
what I can do myself August 28, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
the best book I have found for the backyard do it yourself type corvette owner, very helpfull.
Worth the investment for C4 owners. August 18, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a good supplementary book to a Chilton's, Haynes, or Helm if you are a novice mechanic. It breaks simpler projects down in really simple terms and pictures for a first time mechanic or even a first time corvette owner. I think most of the information contained can be found on the internet or on forums, but the nice part is having it at your finger tips. It references instructions for quite a few jobs quite well...but for the complicated jobs it pretty much just tells you to take the car to your mechanic(steering wheel mounted blinker/highbeam failure) Overall this is a good supplementary book to owning a C4 Corvette and well worth the money. It's a great fingertip reference and a good general maintenance reference too. It tells you about the cheaper performance modifications and what REALLY works and what doesn't and what is appropriate for the associate expense. If you have a C4 and are new to Corvette ownership I'd say this is a must buy.
If you have a C4 you need this book! May 25, 2005 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
When I got my C4 I read all the Vette mags and ads that told me "just add this miracle part and it will increase your horsepower by 200%".
This book tells you what works and what does not. It also tells you if you add this, you also need to change this.
The book does not just tell you about hop-up projects. Most of the book tells you about the everyday things that you need to know if you are not rich. It tells you how to change light bulbs, suspension, interior, etc.
This is a book you will use a lot as your car gets older. It will also save you a lot of money on hop-up projects because he will tell you which ones are marginal and those that work.
Good Motoring
