The Daily Five August 31, 2008 The Daily Five is going to change my literacy block in my second grade classroom. I'm excited about starting a new year with fresh ideas and a structure that will allow me more one-on-one and small group time for conferencing and instruction with my students.
A Must Read for Elementary Teachers August 30, 2008 Where has this book been all of my teaching career? This book is such an easy read and true to its words. I didn't really think that my students would respond to the ideas in this book. Not only did they respond, they soaked it up. Never before have I had all of my students quietly engaged in meaningful reading activities. I am sharing this with my faculty. Thank you sisters!!
Why I'm going to use the Daily 5 August 18, 2008 This book is well written and provides a great guide to setting up a functioning literacy program in the classroom while empowering students to work independently. I can't wait to use it in my classroom.
