i thought this book gave a great overview of the maintanance and a little restoration. it is great for the beginner camaro entusiast and the advenced mechanic. gives information that most people wouldn't think about on their own. i'm restoring a 1970 camaro SS and i personally thought this was a good start to help my restoration, although i am a beginner-to-advanced car mechanic i am a major camaro entusist and the book is served up with some good wit too, overall, a really really good book---5 stars

4 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Reference for Weekend Repair & Maintenence   September 22, 2000

I bought this book after buying my first camaro. It has been a great reference in two ways. First it groups repair and maintenence chores by area of the vehicle. For example Interiors: listings; weatherstriping, dash, package deck, handle replacement etc. Secondly, it has very detailed step by step photos showing you what you get into during the repairs. Too often we launch into a project only to find ourselves surrounded with various parts and no end in site. This feature gave me a good idea of those repairs I was willing to do my self and the ones I would sub out to professionals. At the begining of each section there is a narrative describing what they hope to achieve. Included in these are the helpful hints and warnings that you will need to save time and money during your repairs. For the do it your selfer this is a manual worth having.

5 out of 5 stars Beginner Friendly Tips   March 25, 2000

I was just starting out, all I knew is that I wanted a 1979 Z28 Camaro and a LOT of horsepower. What I did not realize is all the work that goes into building a machine, but this book provided the answers. It was user-friendly, even for the beginner such as myself. It provided me with the information that I needed to start building my car, as well as the tips to keep it running great. Thanks to this book alone I can proudly display my car, you would be amazed to see what a little time, hard work, and this book can do!
