Get an up-close and personal view of legendary hotrod builder Boyd Coddington, his ex-wife, his new wife and the rest of a fascinating cast of characters that help him keep his business--and the drama--running at high revs. Tune in for nonstop tension, comedy and frustration as Boyd and crew race feverishly to build three unbelievably "cherry" classic cars with impossible deadlines breathing down their necks. It's just another day on American Hotrod. Season 1 (Part 2) - In Season 1, Part 2, Boyd and the gang work at a feverish pace to complete their unique aluminum roadster. Then it's time to rev up the engines, as Boyd Coddington and his American Hot Rod crew set out to create their third masterpiece - a rebuilt 1932 Hi-Boy Roadster. With only two days left to assemble the entire '32 roadster, Boyd's team bears down to fight its way to the finish line. This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

What's up with this DVD set January 13, 2008 This is perhaps the worst DVD set I've ever owned. It is composed in no particular sequence - as already outlined in a previous review it starts (Disk 1 part 1) half way through a build and half way through the season. Then you have to hunt through the remaining 5 DVD's to find the rest of the episodes. There is no idexing, DVD extras or any other features. If I had taped the show from the original broadcast and simply burnt it randomly on to DVD's I would have come up with the same product. Discovery's first season release was also terrible as you have to purchase each episode one at a time, but at least you could figure out the logic to the composition.
Overall - the worst DVD "set" ever - way to go discovery.
WTF?! December 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Alright. As far as the show goes I give this 5 stars. I love the show. But I have one major problem here, and I'd like you all to be aware. First of all you'll notice that these lovely sets do not come in full seasons. In an effort to milk us dry of any money we may have they either come in parts of seasons...Or even worse per episode. (And not even a full project at a time, litterally one episode) So I loved the show and figured I'd pick up Season 1 and Season 2. I watched through Season 1 with Glee. I picked up Parts 1 & 2 of season 1. And saw here on Amazon that there were parts 1 & 2 of season 2. So I ordered those. So naturally you would think that at the end of SEASON 1 PART 2 the series would continue in order to SEASON 2 PART 1 right? I finish up the last episode of Season 1 which wraps up nicely with the conclusion of the 32 Roadster being complete. And I plop in Season 2 PART 1 and pleasently to my suprise I'm watching an episode half way through the 'Woody' build. Naturally I think to myself...This can't be right?! Did I miss a disk? So I plop in the last disk of season 1 and low and behold I didn't make a mistake.
Honestly I don't know WTF Discovery is thinking, you would think for a bunch of damn scientists they could learn how to count past 20. Part 1 of Season 1 is 3 disks, 2 episodes a piece.
2 * 3 = 6
Part 2 is 4 disks, 2 episodes a piece except the last disk, which has 1 episode
2 * 3 + 1 = 7
Now here is the real kicker.
Amazon.com had a DVD release of the woody build episode 1 which states it is episode 21.
So lets do the math.
Season 1 Disk 1: 6 Season 1 Disk 2: 7 ______________________ 13 Episodes
Given what we know, Season 2 should have picked up on episode 1 of the woody build. Which is Episode 21. Given that simple fact you can see here we are missing how many episodes?!
21 - 13 = 8
But what really amazes me here is that on the last disk of SEASON1 PART 2 they only included one episode, which I think is absolutely hilarious given how many episodes in season 1 they still need to release. I have a feeling They'll release Part 3 of season1 with 7 Episodes, then release part 4 with 1 episode and charge the same price for that set. Maybe on part 4 they can include some bonus features. One featurette I'd like to see on there is "American Hotrod: The art of releasing seasons, non sequentially into multiple parts"
