Greetings from Coplay, Pa. USA The revised third edition "ENCYCLOPEDIA" OF AMERICAN STEAM TRACTION ENGINES" is a pictorical book devoted exclusively to the Great Steam Era in North America, Steam traction engines, Farm machinary, Draft horses, Mules, Oxen, Steam construction machinary, Steam trucks and fire engines. the author has taken over 4,000 slides and the best ones are in the book. Many of these giants have carefully been restored, while others are lost forever except through surving photographs and illustrations. The author profiles the companies and their engines and provides fascinating captions for each of the 1200 photos and illustrations. Histories of over 100 companies are included. Its a virtual pictorial history of turn-of-the-century steam used in agriculture and steam used in America. To date the author is very involved with a photographic exhibit "The Great Steam Era". It has aroused the curosity of mankind on all 7 continents, over 30 countries, Islands and over 70 cities. Seen and enjoyed by millilns of people. To date there has been over 125 educational exhibits.
