5 out of 5 stars An Excellent and Well Done Resource   August 4, 2008

In a hobby field where there are precious few resources, most of them lengthy and incomplete lists of models, Olson's book, "GM In Miniature" is a very pleasant surprise and a great value. It's chock full of professional quality photos. This alone would make it worth the purchase price but Randall has also included a wealth of background information on individual models and even more 'insider' perspective on the manufacturer's catering to this area of the hobby.

I have his "Ford In Miniature" and, between the two book, I find myself going back to them as reference sources but I also find myself paging through the books just for the pleasure and joy of seeing the pictures and reading the commentary. They're well written, well edited and well composed. Bring on more!

5 out of 5 stars Another great one!   April 18, 2008

I thought the Ford book was very well done. But this one's even better! With a cut-off date of 1954,can we expect another one? The photography is EXCELLENT! I hope this series continues! Mopar? Independents? We can only sit back and wait!

5 out of 5 stars Another excellent book from Randall Olson   April 7, 2008

A wonderful reference book, in addition to "Ford in Miniature". While it mainly features "upscale" white-metal hand-built 1:43 scale cars, it also give credit to some inexpensive diecast cars that are done well. This book is also an "education" on how these cars are made...most of them consisting of up to 100 separate parts, taking up to 10 hours to assemble. Print and paper quality is excellent.
