1 out of 5 stars A Problem With Kindle And Amazon Reviews   May 13, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

If you have to buy books on how to use a device...then it must be a fairly difficult device to use. I thought the Kindle was "user friendly" but obviously, I was wrong.
Another note about most of the GLOWING reviews for this article is that they were obviously created by the author/friends. Anyone can create as many Amazon ID's as they wish and write reviews. You can't blame this guy though. I'd do the same thing if I wanted to relieve as many people as possible from their money.

5 out of 5 stars It's worth every penny   May 10, 2008

...and it's not even many pennies at that. I agreed with other reviewers that yes you could play with your Kindle and eventually find out how to use certain functions, but if you don't have a lot of time to fiddle with it why not have step by step instructions from someone who knows? I thought it was an extremely helpful article.

Having the recommendations for sites and links to visit for more info such as the KindleKorner users group available is also another nice feature. It is amazing how much one can do with the Kindle. The email function is so cool and handy, as one doesn't always have a WiFi hotspot available when traveling and a laptop is so much more cumbersome. The Kindle is so portable and easy to read - sending email is like texting on a cellphone what-with the small keyboard, but doable. I am still learning how to access other sites not just Googles, and have a lot to learn, but I appreciate Mr. Windwalkers help and all of the users input at the KindleKorner on Yahoo Groups. It's great to be able to share shortcuts and hints with other users.

5 out of 5 stars Good info to know!   May 9, 2008

I was surprised to learn that in addition to reading on the Kindle, which is starting to get expensive because I have gone through way too many books already, I can now check my email. What a bonus. The ideas I picked up from the author were akin to having your big brother show you how to really use your new toy. I appreciate the tips! Keep them coming. I wish he was my neighbor and I could just have him do everything mentions, and give it back to me all set up. At least now I know more tricks my Kindle can do.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Source for Kindle Users   May 5, 2008

It's interesting that most of the reviews are either loved it or hated it. I can't help wondering if the "don't waste your money" reviews are from Kindle owners that have mobiles with internet capability and already know how to use them.

I found the article well thought out, and I especially enjoy the links at the back to various Amazon Kindle products. Also, I enjoyed the links to free books as well. I would have liked to have a table of contents so I can skip to each section.

It also includes a way to check the time for those of us that don't wear a watch.

I also wish there was a table of Alt Keystrokes, so we can get more use out of our kindle.

Be sure to send him your email address so you can get notified of "free" products as well as article updates.

I already had a google account, and it's easy to apply the same principle to the Yahoo mail. (Be sure to click the MOBILE link near the top.)

A good investment!
