A good book, but not a cure. You still have to apply good eating and exercise.
Worst book I ever read. May 11, 2007 8 out of 20 found this review helpful
It reads like he wrote one chapter then regurgitated it 20 times. You'll constantly be flipping back through pages asking yourself "didn't I already read that sentence before?"
Another great book from Carr February 6, 2007 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I didn't find this book on the same level as his smoking and drinking books but it was good. All of his arguments were explained clearly, even if I didn't agree with them. I liked that he took a stance of moderation on this topic. Overall, it has motivated me to eat healthier. I am much more conscious of what I put in my mouth.

I have been a disciple of Allen Carr's since he convinced me to stop smoking, however I don't think he knows much about weight loss. Trying to convince me that because I would never think of killing a gambolling lamb this makes me a vegetarian is not true. If I was hungry that lamb would be in serious trouble. Same formt as the non smoking one but the arguments don't translate.

I finished reading this book today, but its effects have already taken effect: I lost 10 pounds in 2 months. But the most important thing about the book is the way concepts are assimilated and you can really FEEL the changes inside. I think this is just the beginning of a healthy way of eating for years to come. Losing weight will just be one consequence. I had read Fit for Life in the 80's and Allen Carr's book transmits a similar concept, in a different way. I strongly recommend this book even if you are not overweight, for you and your family, specially if you are a parent.
