Step into the pages of Sephora, where the top beauty authorities give you access to their private domains. Spend the day with Vincent Longo backstage at fashion week, create red carpet—worthy hair with celebrity hair stylist Oscar Blandi, master the smoky eye with Hollywood's hottest makeup artists, and take a tour of Dr. Nicholas Perricone's kitchen with his refrigerator full of skin-perfecting foods. In Sephora: The Ultimate Guide to Makeup, Skin, and Hair from the Beauty Authority, fashion and beauty journalist and former Sephora beauty editor Melissa Schweiger personally introduces the people behind some of your favorite brands and fills this gorgeous book with the beauty secrets usually reserved for insiders. Each photo-packed page brims with words of wisdom and expert advice from the creators of and authorities on more than two hundred classic and emerging beauty brands sold at Sephora, including LORAC, Smashbox, Too Faced, Dr. Perricone, Frederic Fekkai, and many, many more. Each chapter is designed to mimic a Sephora store's "try everything" vibe while revealing the finest beauty tips and tricks for getting creative with cosmetics. Disapointed July 13, 2008 Very disapointed in this book..it is more like a catalog of advertising their products..you can learn way more tips visiting the store...instead of buying the book..go to store and spend your money
Beautifully photographed...that's it July 2, 2008 I bought this book expecting to find new make up tricks, the ultimate products for skin care and top professional advices, combine with some basic info as an orientation to newcomers, but besides the stunning photos (with no credit about who the make up artists, models and photographers are) the info is not as interesting as depicted in the promotion and it looks to me more like a catalog than a beauty and make up book...only the prices were missing...
Good but not as wonderful as the store itself!!! June 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book contains general make up tips and plenty of product recommendations. The book is visually appealing with plenty of large pictures and product photos. I am a cosmetics addict who can spend plenty of time in Sephora so I found this book interesting but not full of any new make up tips or ideas.

This book really helped me on the tips that I needed to make my face flawless.
Not What I Thought It Was June 11, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I ordered this book to help my teenaged stepdaugther see how make-up should be applied. Instead, this was just a big advertisement for Sephora make-up. Granted, I should have expected this based on the title, but I figured there would be more pictures included. But I don't think Sephora should charge any money for a book that is basically advertising for their products. This book should be a hand-out they give in their stores or charge a minimal fee for, but should not be marketed outside their stores. I returned the book for a refund.
