This was a quick and easy read. I'm a complete makeup noob so I found some of her tips informational. I haven't been able to try any of it, but I plan to someday. It seemed like the book had more photos of irrelevant things than information. I'm glad I got such a good deal on the book at Amazon. If i had paid the price at Borders i'd feel like it was a complete waste of money.

I purchased this book because my 13 year old daughter LOVES watching "What Not to Wear". It has helped her to learn more about how to look the way she wants to look and not to look "made up". It is a great how-to for anyone of any age.

I like Carmody and I got the book and I returned the book. If I were younger I'd be raving about the book however, I'm older and would really like to see a book for us "old broads" on what to do with make up. This book stops at 50, well I didn't stop at 50 so if you are older than dirt, don't get the book. Will someone out there do something for us over the hill gang, please!

The 5-minute face delivers exactly what it has promised - it's a "quick and easy makeup guide". Nothing fancy, nothing complicated. True enough, I did learn how to create a (nearly!) flawless face in 5 minutes, which helped me heaps in the few precious minutes before leaving for work. There are a number of beautiful photos too. However, I distinctly remember wondering why they used a flawless woman (who had brown eyeliner on) in the 5-minute routine photos. I couldn't spot the difference before and after the application of foundation.
This is not the book for makeup artists or fanatics. This book will just bore you. But if you want to know the fundamentals of makeup (and become a makeup artist or fanatic later on) - this would be the best book to buy.

Carmindy did a good job. I have been using make up for 15 years now, but there was always something missing. I had a feeling that I don't know how to use make up, and I don't like exploring it myself. I want to be done and look good. I do read magazines and I read several books about make up, but here I learned several valuable tricks that made me go from OK to great.
