Product Description
Get ready for takeoff! From an acclaimed 3-D master comes a jam-packed, interactive book on flying machines that will send readers soaring.

What was the first man-made object to fly, one thousand years ago? Who was the first woman to make a solo flight across the Atlantic? How on earth (or in the air) does a modern cockpit work? Loaded with flaps, pull-tabs, and pop-ups to manipulate, this fact-filled exploration of flying machines from balloons to Boeings builds up to two big finales — an intricate pop-up cockpit that puts readers at the controls and a bustling airport runway that zooms into the future of flight.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Flight pop-up book   May 18, 2008
I purchased this for my son, as he has his private pilot's license and collects aviation items. He really enjoyed the layout of the history of flight, the pop-up cockpit and airport. I gave it 4 stars because it would have been better with a few more pop-up pages like the 2 mentioned above. The other pages had things to slide and flaps to lift, which are nice but could be better. It is a nice book and I'm glad that I got it for him.

5 out of 5 stars perfect for little pilots   February 23, 2008
My 4 year old loves airplanes and is like a sponge when learning about them, soaking up all the information he can find. This book was a hit! Tons of information about airplanes, tons of pop-ups and tons of tabs to pull! If your little one likes planes, you can't go wrong with this book.

5 out of 5 stars Three-Year Old Son LOVES it!!   January 29, 2008
My three-year-old little boy, who adores airplanes, absolutely loves this book. He is pretty good about being careful with the pop-ups. This book has an awesome cockpit page, with moveable levers which he loves. The runway page (shown in the photo) allows the plane to be gently pulled down the runway. I highly recommend this book for any kid over age three who loves airplanes. And the Train book is great too!

5 out of 5 stars Flight: a Pop-up Book of Air Children's Book   January 14, 2008
This Book is a favorite of my grandson. He is very interested in planes right now and is two years old. I wouldn't recommend it for a child this age without supervision because of the pop-ups, but one learns about airplanes on a beginning level and we liked it. I read it almost daily with him.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful pop-ups!   December 12, 2007

This is a wonderfully detailed pop-up book, just not for young children who don't know not to grab at the pages. Well worth the money, especially for those with kids who enjoy airplanes.
