Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In My Horizontal Life, actress and stand-up comedian Chelsea Handler boldly recounted her one-night stands-the good, the bad, and the disastrous. In this wickedly honest new work, she casts the net wider with even funnier results, recalling the most noteworthy highs and lows of her life to date--including her efforts to diversify by dating red-haired men, her obsession with midgets, and the dog-sitting interlude in which her boyfriend became overly familiar with a Peekapoo.

Whether it's a vacation with her dad during which he tells airline staff they're a honeymoon couple in order to get an upgrade, or her elaborate attempts to convince her third-grade classmates that she's starring in a Private Benjamin sequel, Chelsea lets it rip in these relentlessly entertaining essays. Displaying the candor and irresistible turn of phrase that have earned her a recurring stint as a correspondent on The Tonight Show as well as her own E! series, Chelsea Lately, this deliciously skewed collection is a guilty pleasure.

4 out of 5 stars Sexy little read   October 11, 2008
Handler does a great job with this collection of essays. I was looking for a Burrough's type of book, but was pleasantly surprised with her own type of light hearted humor, that was laced with an alcoholocis twist. This is more of a humor book than one of addiction or vices, so if you are looking for that type of drama, pass this one up. Still it was a delightful read that will keep you turning pages one after another.

3 out of 5 stars An Alcohol Soaked Memoir   October 11, 2008

Chelsea Handler's memoir is slight slushed. Handler is a great standup comic and an actress (In the Motherhood). However in the audio biography, she sound wet behind the ears.

She is a wonderful story teller, however its like telling a great joke with no punch line. Handler's slice of life with a twist is not everyone's cut of tea, its mostly bitter Vodka

However, she showcases she is a survivor in this audio presenation, but not a great narrator, However Chelsea, next time try a stand up comedy album, it would be more enjoyable

5 out of 5 stars It's Laugh Out Loud Funny   October 11, 2008
A really funny, quick read. Some of it was a little over the top, but definitely entertaining and worth it. I listened to it on audio, and Chelsea's voice cracked me up. She sounded just like a good friend of mine, and it was like I was listening to her go through all of these funny exploits.

5 out of 5 stars The funniest book I have ever read!!!!!!!!!!   October 10, 2008
This is literally the funniest book I have ever read! I couldn't wait to share it with all of my girlfriends! It is hard to find someone so relatable and honest. If they had 10 stars, I would've given it 10! Excellent..good for a laugh so hard you'll cry!

5 out of 5 stars hysterical   October 8, 2008
Chelsea Handler is hysterical- I couldn't put the book down and I couldn't stop laughing, out loud, like a lunatic. I nearly peed my pants when reading her diet journal-- I think there are many women who attend parties and end up basically eating the house down- at least I know that I have been guilty of eating an entire brick of cheese at least once in my life. If you like Sedaris or any of the other sarcastic, funny non-fiction short story writers, you will definitely like Handler's book.
