Product Description The perfect title for the perfect beach read from the New York Times bestselling Author
Jane Green is one of the preeminent authors of womens fiction today, and with each new novel, her audience grows. Greens avid and loyal fans follow her because she writes about the true-to-life dilemmas of womenand The Beach House will not disappoint.
Known in Nantucket as the crazy woman who lives in the rambling house atop the bluff, Nan doesnt care what people think. At sixty-five-years old, her husband died twenty years ago, her beauty has faded, and her family has flown. If her neighbors are away, why shouldnt she skinny dip in their swimming pools and help herself to their flowers? But when she discovers the money she thought would last forever is dwindling and she could lose her beloved house, Nan knows she has to make drastic changes.
So Nan takes out an ad: Rooms to rent for the summer in a beautiful old Nantucket home with water views and direct access to the beach. Slowly, people start moving into the house, filling it with noise, with laughter, and with tears. As the house comes alive again, Nan finds her family expanding. Her son comes home for the summer, and then an unexpected visitor turns all their lives upside-down.

Great summer fun! July 25, 2008 Beach House was different than your typical Jane Green chicklit. It reminded me more of Elin Hilderbrand books, not only because it takes place on Nantucket but it has the point of view of many characters in the book. I like to get to see everyone's view of the situations.
The story took place at an old house on Nantucket where the woman who owned it needed to take in boarders for the summer to help pay the bills. It turns out these people were all coming from difficult situations and really because a family. It was such a fun beachy story!
Amazing read... July 25, 2008 The Beach House by Jane Green was one of the best books I ever read! I didn't want it to end! You can't help but to fall in-love with all the characters.
Perfect summer read July 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Jane Green's "The Beach House" centered around the life of Nan, who lived in an old house by the beach in Nantucket. Nan was considered to be eccentric by those living in the area but one would always remember having met her. Nan's one of the few people with vivid personality. The house that she inherited from her deceased husband was falling apart, and Nan had no financial means to restore it. In order to help herself financially, Nan decided that she would convert the house into a Bed and Breakfast. Little did she know that her life would be completely changed when she get to know her boarders and their stories.
This was definitely a great beach read. The characters are interesting, and the plot was fun. Jane Green was able to provide some depths for her characters, and this was helpful in terms of engaging her readers. This light and fun read is perfect for the summer!
Awesome storyline! July 24, 2008 This book weaves the lives of it's star so carefully and ingeniously at some points you wonder how the heck their lives become so intertwined. Jane Green does a great job with each storyline and a beautiful job of bringing all the storylines home. The climax, although I didn't realize it at the time, could have been predicted but was still one of those great 'ah-hah!' moments that are sprinkled throughout the book. Two critisims I have: Jane Green is a british writer - and some of her vocabulary choices for her characters sound like they were born and raised in Britain - not the U.S. But if you didn't know that I doubt you'd notice. Also, there are so many different characters and stories, I had to go back and forth a few times to make sure I knew who was who and what was going on. But overall - I LOVED the book and I HIGHLY recommend it! It was a fast read!
Great read in great condition! July 23, 2008 The story was perfect for an easy beach read! I love all Jane green books and this one did not dissapoint. You can always relate with her characters and she makes you feels for them. Loved it and passed it on to a friend!!
