Product Description Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won't be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

More plot devices developed May 11, 2008 While my knee-jerk reaction is to indulge in how horribly upset this book made me at the beginning, I must go at this review from a different angle. The second book in the Twilight series serves to explain more history, develop characters outside of the Cullens and give the entire urban fantasy "world" more credibility. While Twilight focused more on the Love Story, which is what I was most looking forward to with this installment, this book focused much more on presenting the reader with an overview of all of the elements in the fantasy world. It ended nicely and kept this reader engaged in one sitting. While I would have much preferred for the love story to be more examined in this book, I believe that it would have made the entire story lacking in depth had this book not been written to explain. I look forward to reading the third installment soon!
Wonderful continuation of the Twilight saga! May 11, 2008 I loved twilight more than anyone book that I've read and this is book two in that story. I highly recommend it. I've never been more crazy about a book, or unable to put it down as I have these books.
another good book May 11, 2008 New Moon (The Twilight Saga, Book 2 - easy and fast reading - can not wait to read the next book
Not worth the hype May 10, 2008 Twilight has so many fans, that I'm pretty sure out of loyalty many will just blindly give this book a 5. But it really doesnt deserve it. The first book was great for the first two-thirds, then it became terrible. At least for me. But I'd already bought New Moon by then, and it's a mistake I won't soon forget.
New Moon makes me question Bella's mental state. I don't mean to sound harsh here, but honestly, it proves how fragile Bella is and will forever be even if Edward leaves her for a few days, let alone months. The book pushes the limit of craziness, such that you'll keep thinking - what is wrong with her?
Not only does she seem extremely selfish, incapable of reasoning, and kinda cuckoo, the book itself doesn't move at a great pace. It's the exact opposite of Twilight, the first two-thirds are mind numbingly slow.
Some fangirls may like it either way -- Bella's antics may actually appear symbolic for her true love for Edward to them, but trust me, there's love... and then there's complete obsession. It's like fatal attraction, only, it's fatal to Bella, not Edward.
I say, if you really loved Twilight, just directly go to the third book after reading a summary of New Moon.
Just not worth the hype it created.
Better than Amazing! May 9, 2008 This book... omg! There are hardly words! It was definitely my second favorite book (Twilight being my first!!!). It's a must read if you have read Twilight first! I love this saga!
