Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment, is a land of contrasting natural wonders and human culture. Scenic Driving New Mexico, formerly New Mexico Scenic Drives, covers thirty of the most scenic drives from White Sands National Monument, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to thousand-year-old Indian ruins and modern artist colonies such as Taos. Written by outdoor photographer and writer Laurence Parent, Scenic Driving New Mexico provides comprehensive route descriptions, including travel information on camping, services, best seasons, special attractions, and historical points of interest. The detailed maps and evocative black-and-white photos complement each description, which make this book perfect for planning day trips of weekend outings. Also included are eight pages of spectacular color photos taken along selected routes.

4 out of 5 stars Great descriptions and photos, crude maps   July 28, 2006

Laurence Parent is a well-known photographer - his photos illustrating this book are superb (wish there were more) and his descriptions of these drives in New Mexico are great...the maps are crude but serviceable. They are better than the very rough ones in his Hiking New Mexico, though...I've driven almost all the routes described and got my money's worth many times over - the book is well-used and always with me on my New Mexico trips.
