Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
From the author of The Next Big Investment Boom, this book provides everything prospective investors need to know about making the world's money markets work to their advantage, enabling them to turn basic investments into a winning portfolio.
Big Money, Little Effort shows how to tailor portfolios to suit particular circumstances. Author Mark Shipman employs anecdotal and personal examples to discuss, in layman's terms, different investment strategies. Of particular use is a list of FAQs asked by the public, a glossary of financial terms, and a list of useful resources.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Keep It Simple, Stupid (KISS)   April 20, 2008
I was compelled to read this book after reading a newspaper review. It seemed uncanny to me how close Mark Shipman's ideas were to my own. Not exactly, because I tend not to use moving averages, but certainly in terms of taking a keep-it-simple mechanistic approach to market speculation. And certainly in terms of taking control of one's own investments rather than trusting them to the 'professionals'.

In a nutshell, this book is a very accessible introduction to ideas such as market timing, trend following, and index investing.
