Product Description From the #1 bestselling author, a stunning new novel of secrets, mayhem, and murder.
FBI Special Agent Jackson Crowne is flying his Cessna over the Appalachians, with a very important passenger: renowned psychiatrist Dr. Timothy MacLean; their destination is Washington, D.C. Upon their arrival, the FBI will protect the doctorand ascertain just who wants him dead.
But they dont make it.
In San Francisco, married FBI Special Agents Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock take an early morning phone call from their supervisor, Jimmy Maitland. Maitland received a Mayday from Jackson in the mountains near Parlow, Kentucky, and sends Savich and Sherlock to see whats happened.
Agent Crowne is able to bring his plane down in a narrow valley and haul the unconscious Dr. MacLean from the burning wreckage before it explodes. Their crash is witnessed by Rachael Abbott, a young woman on the run after the mysterious death of her father. When Savich and Sherlock arrive on the scene, they find Jackson and Rachael in the Parlow clinic and Dr. MacLean comatose in the local hospital, prognosis unknown. What they do know frightens them: Dr. MacLean was recently diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia, and in the months prior to the crash his behavior had become erratic and alarmingly uninhibited, his ability to maintain doctor-patient confidentiality badly compromised. With a patient list made up of Washington movers and shakers, MacLeans role as a keeper of secrets is jeopardized as well. Is there someone out there so desperate that theyd kill the doctor for what he knows? It is up to Jackson, Savich, and Sherlock to find outno matter the cost.

Lukewarm August 20, 2008 I agree with another reviewer - that the story was luke warm. I hope she can do better with her next book. I was always a fan - but may not buy a hardbook next time and wait for it to come out in a second hand bookshop.
Just like every other Coulter FBI Thriller August 20, 2008 I enjoyed this book. However, by the 12th book FBI book, they all start to merge together in my brain. Something bad happens to a 28 year old woman. She needs or finds a 34 year old male FBI agent to babysit and protect her. Said FBI agent calls in Savich and Sherlock (who have become stale characters, by now). Damsel in distress and FBI agent go through a great traumatic experience together and then get married. There you go, that sums up all the Catherine Coulter FBI thriller novels.
Plus, Catherine Coulter needs a new editor. Her books lack a great deal of continuity and the editing is terrible. Sherlock's real name is spelled differently in about every other book. At one time, Sherlock was a tall woman. Now, she's very petite. I guess CC never expected the first books to lead anywhere, so why bother continuing with what she had written in the first place.
FBI ROMANCE THRILLER August 17, 2008 Predictable story line and part of the classic FBI series - I enjoyed very much as a summer read.
Disappointing is the best I can say about this one August 10, 2008 Wow, I was really disappointed with this book. I love Catherine Coulter and I really enjoy the FBI series but I did not end this book with a smile like I have with all the previous books. I like reading romantic thrillers because you get the best of both worlds but this book didn't really provide either. Where was the romance in this book? I kept waiting for it and it never happened. The ending was disappointing as well. There was too much droning on and on. She should have spent more time developing the main characters instead of going on and on about why the bad guy did the bad thing. Since all the other books have been good, I will buy the next book when it comes out, but if it's like this one, it will be the last. If you're thinking about buying this one, don't. Check it out from the library if you really want to read it.
Much better than the last book. August 7, 2008 I liked Tailspin much better than the last book. However, it's becoming a bit long and after 12 books, the plots are becoming predictable. Probably should've waited until it came out in paperback and saved a couple $$$.
