He is the inventor of the first electronic watch, first LCD digital watch; first CMOS liquid crystal display hand held calculator, color autofocus cameras among many successful commercial products. He has worked for many American and foreign automakers on specific projects such as integrated two way radios and seat belt interlocks. He is working with DoD on hardening electronics systems against non nuclear events.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a book combining the problems of semiconductor development with vehicle reliability and safety. I was even more surprised, given the dry title, that it is readable and interesting.

Some of the material is a bit advanced for me, but I was able to follow along. The descriptions of how these systems fair answer some questions for me, and raise some concerns as to what's being done to make sure these systems meet up to some sort of standards.

Haven't found any other books by this author, would like to take a look at them if they're along the same lines.
