#1 bestselling author Harlan Coben asks that provocative and terrifying question with his fifteenth thriller.
#1 bestselling author Harlan Coben has become an unstoppable force in suspense fiction. His most recent novel, The Woods, spent more time on the New York Times bestseller list than his previous books and sales reached his highest levels to date. His latest page-turner, which is about just how far parents will go to protect their kids, is destined for the top of every bestseller list.
Tia and Mike Baye never imagined theyd become the type of overprotective parents who spy on their kids. But their sixteen-year-old son Adam has been unusually distant lately, and after the suicide of his classmate Spencer Hillthe latest in a string of issues at schoolthey cant help but worry. They install a sophisticated spy program on Adams computer, and within days are jolted by a message from an unknown correspondent addressed to their son: Just stay quiet and all safe.
Meanwhile, browsing through an online memorial for Spencer put together by his classmates, Betsy Hill is struck by a photo that appears to have been taken on the night of her sons death . . . and he wasnt alone. She thinks it is Adam Baye standing just outside the cameras range; but when Adam goes missing, it soon becomes clear that something deep and sinister has infected their community. For Tia and Mike Baye, the question they must answer is this: When it comes to your kids, is it possible to know too much?

Harlan Coben's "Hold Tight" May 16, 2008 I have thoroughly enjoyed all the Harlan Coben books. This one is the best!
another great summer read May 15, 2008 I wait for his book every summer. Another page turner..very Harlan Coben. Loved it.
A surprise package May 13, 2008 Reading this novel was like opening a surprise package. You want to see what's inside but you want to savor the anticipation too. While I felt as if I couldn't read Hold Tight fast enough, I still didn't want it to end. Harlan Coben has never disappointed and I look forward to reading more of his books. In fact, I highly recommend this book to my fellow readers. Loved the plot/storyline, loved the writing, cared about the characters, made me wonder what I would do in the same circumstances -- all the characteristics of an excellent novel.
COBEN maintains level high May 13, 2008 H. COBEN dodges risks of iteration and "burden" of being such a bestselling author: he grants us with another nice piece of work, perfectly written, managing even more than in the others books to give some wonderfully questioning slants on major social and familial issues, while leading us in a compelling plot as usal.

Scary Scenario May 13, 2008 While not Coben's best, Hold Tight is still a riveting thriller that will grab you from chapter 2 (hey, chapter one wasn't as good as it could've been) and keep you turning pages well into the night. Anyone who has children between the ages of 5 -25 is going to have no problem identifying with the main characters of the book, and will find themselves not only feverishly reading, but also evaluating how they interact with their children.
An entertaining read, but one that has lots of empty mind-calories.
