5 out of 5 stars The First Book to Read.   April 28, 2008

Ahoy!

If someone is interested in junk rigged boats; this is the first book to purchase and read. It established the subject and lexicon.

For years, I have owned and lived aboard the last NA29 to come out of the mold, It is a shame that this particular design is not included in the book. Also, I believe the book was written before the research on cambered sails on Junks was in, and it only discusses "flat cut" (no camber) sails. For that information, one pretty well has to go to the Junk Rig Assn. or Yahoo Junkrig Group.

Fair winds...

The author's , Hasler and MacLeod, diseinged my boat, SIRIUS, an expanded version of Hasler's Folkboat JESTER. Mine is a North Atlantic 29. their book is absolutely required reading for any owner of a junk rig or anyone contemplating one...i talk about this at some length on my web site.
