Product Description For Jon and Erin Bennett, the world seems to be spinning dangerously out of control. A new dictator is rising in Iraq. China is making threatening new moves toward Taiwan. North Korean forces appear ready to strike south. Israel is feverishly trying to complete the Third Temple. Oil prices are surging. And in the wake of an horrific war in the Middle East, President James MacPherson's second term is coming to an end. Now the battle to succeed him is heating up into one of the most fiercely contested presidential elections in American history, and the Bennetts realize the stakes could not be higher. Who will lead a bitterly divided country over the next four years? What can the U.S. do to shape the new world order? And just what role--if any--does the U.S. play in the last days? As the presidential campaign narrows into a dead heat, the Secret Service learns of a catastrophic plot to assassinate one of the candidates--but which one, and can the terrorists be stopped in time?

Last of Rosenberg's series will keep you on the edge of your seat! One must pray for our country as we see these things unfold. I am so grateful that the opportunity to accept Yeshua into your heart is presented often throughout this novel.
Exciting read, Rapture theme May 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wonderful read but its strong Rapture theme was surprising to one expecting more of a Vince Flynn genre novel.
Dead Heat Hits The Mark April 29, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having purchased the previous selections by Joel Rosenberg, I expected a great read. It was much more. His character development, political scenarios, and excellent writing combined for a wonderfully entertaining, yet sobering, look at our world today and for the future.
I highly recommend it.
Inspiring true April 29, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
In the beginning it was scaring. I didn't want to believe that this could ever happen, at least not in my life time. What was scaring became so inspiring and heart invigorating. The manifestation of human inability and total dependency on the One who empowers the faithful. The most unexpected moment was the Christ's appearance, and how could it not be! My heart almost stopped at that moment. I hardly could manage feelings of joy and sadness simultaneously. Joy for the redeemed and sadness for those staying behind. I just could not let the book down until I got to the end or almost to the end, as it seams that I just reached a new beginning.
