Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Take a thrilling look at the world of skydiving and base jumping - parachuting from a building a bridge or a cliff. With breathtaking views of skydiving over the Florida Keys the Mojave Desert and the magnificent Fjords of Norway this giant-screen experience explores the psychological and physiological forces behind risk-tasking and the physics involved in high-risk activities. The film follows two top risk-takers Adrian Nicholas and Katarina Ollikainen as they try to fly the first parachute ever designed as imagined in 1485 by Leonardo da Vinci. Thanks to a camera strapped to one of the professional jumpers who took part in the film you can also live through a 4265-foot jump from a legendary Norwegian cliff. Exhibited in IMAX and other giant-screen theatres around the world this film has been specially mixed and mastered to produce an outstanding DTS Digital Surround and Dolby Digital 5.1 home theatre experience.System Requirements:Running Time 58 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: MISCELLANEOUS/SPECIAL INTEREST Rating: NR UPC: 014381324129 Manufacturer No: ID3241LSDVD

4 out of 5 stars Adrenaline Rush (IMAX) (2 - Disc WMVHD Edition) (2002)   November 4, 2007
Being the first WMVHD content disc I've purchased, I can't speak to how it might compare with other titles out there in this format, but it didn't disappoint and in fact it has inspired me to get back into skydiving. I did find it to be a little short in running time especially considering the little 'history of Adrenaline' segment which wasn't in keeping with the rest of the content. It's for these two reasons that I didn't give it a five star rating, but if you're after HD program content to play on your computer, and you don't suffer from vertigo, then this is an excellent choice.

5 out of 5 stars One big rush   November 4, 2006

This is not only a knee jerking, heart stopping visual treat but and educational one as well. Unbelievable footage on base jumping and a downloadable teachers guide for those who feel to learn a little deeper of what makes them tick.

5 out of 5 stars An amazing movie   October 3, 2004

I recently had the opportunity to view this film in its original IMAX format and it was quite an amazing experience. As someone who has recently taken a strong interest in the sport of skydiving, as well as BASE jumping (which I have yet to try), I found this movie as intriguing as any I have ever seen. Not only does this movie provide continuous outstanding shots of professional skydivers and BASE jumpers from around the globe, but it also takes you in great depth, into what goes on inside a person's head, and body, when they take life to the edge. Adrenaline Rush is a fun ride, and provides spectacular insight into what makes people push life to the extreme. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who as ever thrown themselves out of plane, off of a cliff, or anyone who has even the slightest bit of Adrenaline Junkie in them.

4 out of 5 stars Mediocre   August 18, 2003

As far as Imax / bigscreen films go, this was only mediocre. The resolution is not up to par (not surprising, considering the weight of a true Imax camera). This is really more of a typical PBS show for the movies. It ends well, but the content is a little thin. The air shots, though, are very good and the skydivers are talented. Seeing the da Vinci parachute is obviously unique and worth the entry price for scientific historians or parachute / skydiver aficianados.
