Brilliantly uplifting August 11, 2008
If you need something to get you motivated in your dreams - this is a great place to start. The stories in this book really make you feel like you can do anything if you just put your heart into it. Dan does a great job compiling these stories into such a unique book.

From some of the most important and influential figures in baseball's history comes their thoughts, fears, triumphs and tragedies all wrapped up in one book. Dan captured their stories to let us know that our baseball heroes experienced the same emotions that we all have felt, but also to give us some insight into our own lives. A truly inspiration book.

Dugout Wisdom is a unique compilation of inspirational and motivational stories behind some of the great players in Major League Baseball history. Dan Migala interviewed players, managers, general managers and others to create a powerful and engrossing book.
It is a must read for any baseball fan who wants to know the behind the scenes stories behind some of Major League Baseball's greatest contributors. It truly is a refreshing and enjoyable look at America's national pastime.

I am definitely not a reader, and I read this book cover to cover. Dugout Wisdom is about more than baseball; it truly captures hopes, dreams, and passions and lets you know that it is OK to pursue these feelings and let angels in your life help you along the way. Reading this book gives me confidence to pursue my dreams (no matter how silly or unrealistic they may seem!) and also grounded me to realize that sometimes your dreams may not turn out exactly as planned, but if you stay true to yourself that is the greatest gift of all. You can tell the author poured his heart into this which makes it a joy to read.

I could not put the book down and I am not "a reader". Amazing stories of the people that were key figures in these ballplayers lives. These players believed in themselves because they had a special person that believed in them--scouts, fathers, etc. Dan Migala does a wonderful job capturing the emotion in each and every story. I got a little misty when I read the Goose Gossage chapter. You will love this book. Pull the trigger!!
