5 out of 5 stars Outstanding Book!   July 12, 2008
This is a great book. A must have for the Principles and Practice Professional Engineers Exam. It is very well written and has very useful information regarding electrical machines, drives, and power systems.

5 out of 5 stars ...Those were the textbooks   March 24, 2008
There's no way I could revise a student's edition hardcover for a must for engineers. But I could revise my experience with this book in the past, This book helped me realize my potential as a student while outlining most topics in an easy manner. Few recommended guides match the potential guidelines/topics that this textbook covers. I really hope this edition helps me revise the topics I struggled with in the past as well as to help me learn the new topics covered.

2 out of 5 stars Basics only   October 6, 2007

It treats only the basics of electrical machines and it is very outdated. I would recommend it instead:

Electric Machinery Fundamentals

4 out of 5 stars Power Up!   May 16, 2006
My job recently started to include quite a bit of Electrical Engineering such as generator sizing. I also needed to specify motor controls and electrical filters to avoid interference, and other electrical issues which I had a poor understanding of. I had suppliers and contractors asking me questions like I was some kind of electrical guru.

This book greatly assisted my understanding, and one of my latest projects involving a 125 HP submersible vertical turbine driven by a VFD was successful as a result.

Thanks, Steve Willie, Olympia, WA
