Amazon.com If you haven't seen Hay House's Lifestyles series of gorgeous gift books, there is no better way to acquaint yourself than with publisher/author Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life. A bestseller for many years, You Can Heal Your Life has been republished with bright, beautiful illustrations in full, living color and exquisite typography--each and every page is a work of art by artist Joan Perrin Falquet. The timeless message of the book is that we are each responsible for our own reality and "dis-ease." Hay believes we make ourselves ill by having thoughts of self-hatred. She includes a directory of ailments and emotional causes for each with a corresponding affirmation to help overcome the illness. For example, the probable cause of multiple sclerosis is "mental hardness, hard-heartedness, iron will, and inflexibility." The healing "thought pattern" would be: "By choosing loving, joyous thoughts, I created a loving joyous world. I am safe and free." --P. Randall Cohan
Product Description
Louise L.. Hay, bestselling author of You Can Heal You Life, ISBN: 0937611018; is an internationally known leader in the self-help field. Her key message is: "If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed." The author has a great deal of experience and firsthand information to share about healing, including how she cured herself after being diagnosed with cancer. An excerpt from You Can Heal Your Life: Life Is Really Very Simple. What We Give Out, We Get Back What we think about ourselves becomes the truth for us. I believe that everyone, myself included, is responsible for everything in our lives, the best and the worst. Every thought we think is creating our future. Each one of us creates our experiences by our thoughts and our feelings. The thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experiences.

Dangerous message July 4, 2008 I think Louise Hay has the right idea but the wrong message. The 1st chapter titled 'What i believe' is just Louise noting her personal opinions which some readers may disagree with, i know i did and so did a couple of other people who read this book. I for one do not agree with a couple of her beliefs especially the belief about that fact that we chose our parents, no one chooses abusive parents. I'm shocked that Louise who has experienced abuse in her life would put such a damaging statement in her book.To say that we manifest everything in our lives with the thoughts we think is ridiculous. Yes we do choose our cheating partners and disloyal friends and rubbish boring jobs and sometimes we see the signs or we hate our jobs and complain complain complain but we dont get up and leave but no one chooses to be struck with breast cancer or a disability. I think Louise Hays books should be read carefully because some of the material is very damaging and dangerous.
I would highly recommend 'Feal the fear and do it anyway' by Susan Jeffers, it is a fantastic book for anyone who is holding back on changing any aspect of their lives especially their career.
An excellent read July 1, 2008 This is a wonderful book if you're looking for a simple and effective way to heal both physically and emotionally. I would also suggest a just published book, "Thinking Your Way to Better Health" by Dr. Andrew Goliszek as another great source for health and self-healing.

In You Can Heal Your Life, a saint of a woman brings us face to face with self sabotaging patterns so we can become aware of them. Once we are aware of something, it is much easier to transform.
I think (IMHO) that Louise Hay is the closest thing to a living Saint. Her heart and soul pour on to the pages of this great book, and immediate relief can be experienced.
There is a section on page 81 "Creating Changes" and I have the statement underlined in my book "I appreciate all that I do."
Right there is an opening to the inherent greatness YOU hold within. Appreciating yourself instead of bashing yourself will bring you into emotional, spiritual and physical wellness.
There is also a thorough section providing a list of physical ailments the cause, and how to treat it. It was interesting to read "HEADACHES comes from the invalidating of self... Migraine headaches are created by people who want to be perfect and who create a lot of pressure on themselves..." - now I know why I was getting migraines two years ago.
There isn't anyone who cannot genuinely benefit from this beautiful book, written by an EXTRAORDINARY person - LOUISE HAY - as she has from her heart provided us with a timeless classic on personal and life transformation. Thank you, LOUISE, for being such a gift to humanity!
You CAN Heal Your Life and Live Again! June 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"You Can Heal Your Life" is a classic book, that has had numerous reprints and now appears in electronic form thanks to the Kindle, but matter what form you read this wonderful book, the truth of the words of remain. It contains methods of healing, affirmations, and discusses many of the emotionally based reasons why many of us become ill. You will learn by altering your life actions, you can also change your illness into a path of wellness. In this newly revised version, the list of ailments and likely emotional connections. But putting positive thought into practice can be easier said than done. I read this book in a much earlier edition, checked out from the library, but while it seemed to make sense, I could never quite live it. Much frustration was with my body, my weight has been a problem for years. There was an emotional connect that I knew was there, but couldn't quite understand.
Finally, years later, a concerned friend told me to check out, "Body Esteem: Weight Loss Through Self-Discovery (includes 2 Audio CDs)." That book turned out to finally help me get in control of my emotional eating. I think perhaps the reason was the two hours of amazing guided imagery CD's that came with the book. After listening to the Cd's over and over, often before bed, something changed in me and I began to change my eating habits. Words can be powerful on paper, but sometimes our stubborn minds need a little more convincing and guided imagery, meditation, hypnosis...a deeper level of access to the mind is necessary. I mention all this because now, after so many years, I read Louise Hay's book again and it was so much more tangible. Her insight is amazing, but I needed to be in the right frame of mind to really appreciate her words...I guess life is ironic like that...those who need to hear the words the most sometimes aren't ready. Thank God for my friend and her urging me to try Body Esteem.
Now I've integrated healthy eating in to my life along with a healthy, positive mind. I'm doing Kathy Freston's cleanse in "Quantum Wellness: A Practical and Spiritual Guide to Health and Happiness," and feel amazing.
Good luck on your journey, stay with it and you'll get there...it feels great! You really can heal your life! God Bless.
This Book Is Changing My Life! June 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am so thankful that I came across this book! Little miracles are beginning to happen in my life and I'm so very grateful! I left my job in January and have been home ever since. I have gone on interviews here and there and nothing. Around the middle of June my Aunt asked me to accompany her to a doctor's appointment. While waiting for her to get ready she told me that she was reading this book called You Can Heal Your Life. She told me it was the same concept of The Secret (Which I'd already seen and own the DVD). I read a few lines and said yes it is the same as The Secret and put it down. On our way out she insisted I take it with us so I can read it while she met with the doctor. I took it reluctantly since I already know much about the Law of Attraction. I got bored enough in the waiting room (no fashion magazines) and started to read it. I then realized that the main focus of You Can Heal Your Life was not about getting stuff. It seemed more personal. Loving the self. I only read up to page 40 that day and gave it back to my Aunt, reluctantly. I kept thinking about the book and how I wanted to read it. A few days later I convinced my boyfriend to get it for me on audio. I listened to it in one day. I took a notebook and did the exercises in the book. I then typed out all the affirmations and started saying them out loud daily. Specially the job related affirmations. Although I'd always seen my previous job as unpleasant I started to bless the entire place with love even the customers! I even made a song about one of the affirmations. Very silly, but it made me laugh. My situation did get worst I must say. After moments of anxious thinking I remembered the book mentioned things will get worst at first. I rejoiced and my boyfriend looked at me like I was crazy. In the midst of a financial chaos I applied for a job and was called for an interview the following day. I got lost on the way to the interview and could not seem to find my way. Pulling over several times to try to figure it all out. I wanted to call them to say forget it, it's not meant to be but was too embarrassed. My boyfriend convinced me to still show up and I did an hour late. I was handed an application and began to fill it out. Thoughts were racing through my head. I would catch myself and say just be with it. Don't fight this situation you can't change what has happened. To top it off another girl showed up while I was filling out my application. She was there for the same job. She finished her application first, and since she was on time they interviewed her first. I did my best on the interview and went home and tried my best not to think about what had happened. They called me to tell me I got the job a few days later! Getting paid more money than my last job! Less than a month since I read the book. Thank you Source I accept it! I will continue doing my affirmations and blessing all the good in my life with love! Not only does it work, it feels great too! Louise, you are amazing and I love you and bless you!
