Better than expected September 29, 2008 The book contains basic introductory information about motor scooters from how to choose one through to buying a new or used one. It is written with a fair amount of generalization, but covers almost every aspect. It is USA oriented in the listing of scooter specifications and pricing, which I view as a plus. With the demand for scooters, manufacturers are quickly changing their products and product mix. So the information may not be there for the exact machine you are considering. I found it a good overview of scooters for someone considering getting one to add to their vehicle stable. I found it well worth the price.
Book review "The Complete Idiot's Guide To Motor Scooters" September 6, 2008 I enjoyed this book. It has a lot of information concerning scooters. Some that I was looking for and some that I could have cared less for. When looking for a book concerning scooterts, I was particularly looking at the maintenance and the up-keep of scooters. Though not as in-depth as I was looking for, this book did give a lot of general information about a lot of topics that was helpful. No problems at all with the quality, it was excellent for a paperback. From the time that I ordered until the time that I received it was very reasonable. (It's been a little while since I ordered and received this book, but I believe that it took about a week to get it.)
good basic info June 21, 2008 This is a good basic intro guide to modern day scooters. Ideal for those who know nothing about scoots (such as that nickname) or haven't kept up with their changes. (Guess I qualify on the last item -- haven't owned a scooter in 50 years, back when I had a Cushman in high school)
Easy stuff. For first time riders May 14, 2008 This book is for all those who dont know ANYTHING about scooters. Which it very good. It dose have a lot of really good basic information about scooters but is not for those who need something more in depth.
Good if you know nothing about scooters now. March 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good book if you are truly a "idiot" about scooters and wish to get up to speed about the basics of these two wheeled wonders. This book will not help much in learning how to repair/maintain a Scooter.
This book can be useful in getting a "significant other " on board about scooters if they just do not know much about them and need some information to make them more comfortable with trying one out.
If you have already owned one or two scooters or have done a moderate amount of research on the web you could probably skip this book and find something more technical.
You can't beat Amazon for books with free shipping.
