Product Description THE EAGERLY AWAITED COLLECTION OF PERSONAL ESSAYS FROM THE BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF MY HORIZONTAL LIFEWhen Chelsea Handler needs to get a few things off her chest, she appeals to a higher power -- vodka. You would too if you found out that your boyfriend was having an affair with a Peekapoo or if you had to pretend to be honeymooning with your father in order to upgrade to first class. Welcome to Chelsea's world -- a place where absurdity reigns supreme and a quick wit is the best line of defense. In this hilarious, deliciously skewed collection, Chelsea mines her past for stories about her family, relationships, and career that are at once singular and ridiculous. Whether she's convincing her third-grade class that she has been tapped to play Goldie Hawn's daughter in the sequel to Private Benjamin, deciding to be more egalitarian by dating a redhead, or looking out for a foulmouthed, rum-swilling little person who looks just like her...only smaller, Chelsea has a knack for getting herself into the most outrageous situations. Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea showcases the candor and irresistible turns of phrase that have made her one of the freshest voices in comedy today.

LMAO FUNNY!!! October 15, 2008 This book is absolutely hilarious! It lifts my spirits instantly within just minutes of picking it up. It's as if Chelsea is just rehashing old war stories with me over drinks! Definitely a way to decompress after a bad day!
Love it!!! October 15, 2008 One of the funniest books I've read. If you loved "My horizontal Life" you'll enjoy this even more.
Book/Are you there, Vodka?, it's me, Chelsea October 15, 2008 This book is very comical...I enjoyed it very much...especially during these stressful times...It was a joy to read and not too long...I do not read anything but Biographies and serious non-fiction books. I would recommend this book as "medicine" to pick you up.
WOW!!! This Book is FrEaKiN Hilarious!!!!! October 14, 2008 I have been watching chelsea handler for a while now on E! and Girls Behaving Badly. And decided to check out her first book. I found it pretty funny, very blunt, but mostly a female read. I'm glad i gave her a second chance with Are You There Vodka. I literally read this book in a day! and for a 200+ page book for me that's almost impossible. It was so F***ing Funny. During the Jumped chapter i was reading to my sister in a chelsea like voice and she almost pissed her pants!!! I'm really eager for her third book. And i definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, easy, and entertaining read for male or female!!! Love Ya Chelsea!!! Great job!! :)
Sexy little read October 11, 2008 Handler does a great job with this collection of essays. I was looking for a Burrough's type of book, but was pleasantly surprised with her own type of light hearted humor, that was laced with an alcoholocis twist. This is more of a humor book than one of addiction or vices, so if you are looking for that type of drama, pass this one up. Still it was a delightful read that will keep you turning pages one after another.
