Product Description
POLITICS IN A CHANGING WORLD introduces you to the diverse discipline of political science by providing a foundation for understanding political life in a systematic and comparative way. The text covers the fundamental political science subject areas (legislative, executive, judicial, and bureaucratic institutions, political parties, voting, interest groups, political culture and ideology), and then illustrates them in a series of brief country studies. Not only will POLITICS IN A CHANGING WORLD help you acquire a better understanding of the actors and institutions that play a part in diverse political systems, you will gain a sense of the political choices people make, the causes and consequences of war, and the stakes of politics.

2 out of 5 stars Great Book   October 3, 2008
I haven't even opened the book yet to begin reading it. However it did come in a timely manner and is what I wanted/ordered. No Complants here.

3 out of 5 stars had to get it for class, but lecture notes were better   September 24, 2008
It has many pages of small print. Honestly, about 80% of it is (I don;t know how to word it best, but) babbling- it talks about a lot of background info---but in a way thats bad because I feel as if the book jumps to different history references, so it seems not significant at all. The other 20% is the simple terms and ideas that are important. For my class, the teacher had in his lecture notes the 20% good part of the book outlined in simple notes. I wouldn't buy this book if it wasn't required for class.
