Product Description Twilight is an action packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan has always been a little bit different and when her mother sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for: a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward and Bella do when James, Laurent and Victoria, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? This is the first movie from the book series from author Stephanie Meyer. The series are currently some of the most popular books written for young adults, with sales exceeding 50 million copies worldwide since the Twilight debut in 2004 and over 7.7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. The fourth book in the series, Breaking Dawn, was released on August 2, 2008 and sold over 1.2 million units on the first day.
Album Description Every song on the Twilight soundtrack is featured in the movie. The soundtrack includes `Decode,' an exclusive song from Paramore written specifically for Twilight! 'I chose the title 'Decode' because the song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward. Bella is the only mind Edward can't read and I feel like that's a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. It's one added tension that makes the story even better.'-- Hayley Williams / Paramore.

Not what I expected, but pretty good November 17, 2008 Being a huge fan of the books, I expected different songs on this than what there is. Especially, when on Stephenie's website, she has playlists for all of the books. I guess since I listened to her playlists, I expected some of those songs to make it to the CD, and none of them did. So I was kinda surprised by the song choices. But, most of the songs are pretty good. Paramore, Muse, Linkin Park, Collective Soul, and Rob Patterson's songs are probably the best ones. The Black Ghosts "Full Moon" I didn't like at first, but it grew on me. Mutemath, Perry Farrell, and Blue Foundation's songs, I didn't really like, and I didn't think they really fit with the books. Carter Burwell's "Bella's Lullaby" was a big disapointment. If you read the books, you have a certain sound in your head that you expect for the song. This isn't it. In the book, it's strictly a piano played song that Edward always hums to Bella. Carter Burwell's song is played with more than one instrument, and I can't imagine it being hummed. Nor does the song have that feeling of the love between Bella and Edward. The song is probably one of the most important songs on this album, because it was really major in the book, and it just didn't cut it. I would still reccomend it to Twilight fans, but would say to expect to be a little disapointed.
Great CD November 16, 2008 everything that I could want from a CD. The music by all the artist are great. Good value for the price, would buy another for friends and family. If your a Twilight fan, you will enjoy.
Pleasantly Surprising November 16, 2008 After seeing that Robert Pattinson sings and checking out the list of artists on the soundtrack... I wasn't ready for anything great. But the more I listen to the soundtrack, the more I can associate the music and lyrics to moments in our beloved first Twilight book. I think that the songs were carefully chosen and work perfectly with the story.
I know many aren't fans of Robert Pattinson singing, but the more I listen to his songs the more I like them.
It is definitely worth your time and money!
SoundTrack November 16, 2008 This CD has a very good variety of music on it. I would have to say that the biggest problem on it is "Bella's Lullaby". It is a beautiful song, no one can argue that but it is also very short and in my opinion has too much orchestra in it for what was supposed to be a piano only piece. The heaviest song on the album is probably the Linkin Park one, there are a few on there that have a little dance/techno feel to them and of course there is one by Robert Pattinson (Edward!) where he mumbles alot but still sounds like a sexy John Mayer. Over-all GREAT soundtrack. Love muse and Paramore, and some lesser known bands. ENJOY!
An iffy selection saved by a few good songs November 15, 2008 My feelings on the soundtrack are mixed. While I'm definitely pleased with the Collective Soul and Muse additions (they were both, after all, on the playlist Stephenie Meyers made for the book herself, before a movie was even thought of), I find a few of the songs - ahem, "Go All The Way" - to be totally unfitting and strange. That song in particular sounds more like it belongs on an Abercrombie & Fitch soundtrack than a Twilight soundtrack. I'm also not a big fan of the Linkin Park addition, though I suppose it fits the angsty mood of the film (and furthermore is fitting due to the fact that Meyers has stated that the band Bella and Edward both profess to love in the book is Linkin Park, though they were not explicitly named, for obvious reasons).
Like so many others, I also must say that I was pretty disappointed by "Bella's Lullaby". I'm sure that when it shows up in the movie (assuming there is a scene of Edward playing it for her, like there was in the book) that it will not have a full orchestra accompaniment, but the melody of it just isn't right. I know the composers didn't want to 'pander' to us fans, but they could have had Yiruma himself write them something much better, if they didn't want to use one of the already widespread songs, "Kiss the Rain" and "River Flows in You". I also would be interested in hearing the version of the lullaby that Pattinson supposedly came up with, as he's exceptionally talented and seems to understand Edward's character very well. But the lullaby as it is stands lackluster and meandering, and never quite seems to reach a high or emotional point, or capture the joy, longing, romance, etc. that it should. It's also a somewhat simple tune, hardly what Edward, who is supposed to be extremely good at the piano, would be capable of...
As for Paramore's additions, I'm a big fan of "Decode", though there are a few lines in it that don't quite seem to fit, considering the fact that it was written with Twilight in mind ("When I used to know you so well"?). "I Caught Myself" is not as good as "Decode", but takes up space well enough.
"Spotlight" and "Eyes on Fire" are great songs, and I think I know exactly where they'll likely fit into the plot. I love the mood they set; very Twilight-esque (in the right places).
As for Iron and Wine and Robert Pattinson's songs... They were truly the high points of the CD. "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" is a beautiful song, and I was happily surprised to see such an unexpected inclusion. Pattinson's songs add a welcome softer, more soulful side to the CD that was very necessary after the additions of Paramore, Linkin Park, and that awful techno piece. He really is an extremely talented guy, and I have the feeling that without him this whole film and soundtrack might have been very disappointing.
And finally, "Clair de Lune" and "La Traviata" were considerate additions, but I could've done without "La Traviata". "Clair de Lune" by itself as the only classical song on the CD would have been more poignant; "La Traviata" only serves to dull "Clair de Lune"s importance.
Overall, I'd be happier sans "Go All the Way", "I Caught Myself", and "La Traviata", perhaps as well as "Leave Out All The Rest". Perhaps the addition of a second Muse song ("Time is Running Out", anyone?) and some more Pattinson/Iron and Wine would have been better, or more interesting picks along the lines of MuteMath and The Black Ghosts.
But... C'est la vie. It could've been much worse.
