Good for Beginners to Working Out July 13, 2008 Like other reviews, there's nothing new in this book. I tried the six week plan hoping my jelly donut around my abs would go away (as mentioned in the book). It didn't. The problem is the workout is too easy. With this program, I was actually working out my abs LESS than I was before. My butt also got flabbier, because I was doing less. The cardios are listed as optional. If you really want to be healthy, you need a good cardio workout; getting that heart rate up and keeping it there. The positive thing is that my arms and legs got a little bigger, because there was more focus here than I usually give. I will maintain that, but the reality is for people already in relatively good shape, this workout is not going to cut it. The diet info is helpful for people who never took a nutrition class.
The Un-Diet June 24, 2008 I admit that I was skeptical when I bought this book. Oh, no, not another stupid diet craze. But I was pleasantly surprised. The nutrition advice is solidly based on science and a common sense approach: eat more unprocessed foods, be careful of trans fat, protein is your friend, etc. This is more of a guide to basic nutrition than a "diet book." And the exercises included in the back are great! They're easy to do and can be done quickly ( like circuit training). It only takes me about 15-20 minutes a day to do ab work and either upper body or lower body workouts. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get healthy, learn about what's really going into their bodies, and do something about it!
Amazing! This diet works ! June 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this week recently and in 1 week I have lost 8 pounds. I have tried many diets and bought many diet books. But this one beats the others because it shows you how to eat for LIFE. You eat so much that you do not realise that the recommended food is keeping you full and making those muscles burn fat.
What amazed me that it shows you how to calculate how much excess fat you are carrying in your body. It was an eye-opener. You realise that you can't carry on like this any more and have to take action. Even the exercises are very cool taking around 35-40 minutes.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!! May 12, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was trying for about 8 months to lose the remaining 30lbs of post-baby weight I had (of an original total of 60lbs!). I had definately plateaued and actually was beginning to gain weight back! I came across this book and it specifically addressed this issue. I lost 18lbs in 2 months!!! Why, you may ask yourself, didn't I lose the other 12? I got pregnant again! :) And now during my current pregnancy, I am sticking to the 12 powerfoods (although my calorie count is considerably higher) and other basic strategies and have only gained a fraction of the weight I gained during my first pregnancy. My baby is healthy, and my hormones are more balanced as well as my cravings being less. I HIGHLY recommend this for any woman battling weight loss issues; post-pregnancy or otherwise. The idea behind this is a lifestyle change that will make you feel happier and healthier, give you more energy, and help you return to your pre-pregnancy weight faster than ever. Like I said... AWESOME!!!
