Product Description
For more than 25 years, informed BMW owners have relied on Roundel, the magazine of the BMW Car Club of America, to make their "Ultimate Driving Machines" more ultimate. Now a selection of articles on driving, performance, service and tech tips have been collected in a single book. Whether you drive a sporting 325iC or the uncompromising 850CSi Sport Coupe, this book will serve as a valuable maintenance guide, performance handbook and technical reference source, to help you understand and care for your BMW.

BMW owners and BMW Car Club of America members provide specific information for your BMW:

-Valuable insights and technical information ranging from basic service

tips to advanced driving theory-written by BMW owners and club members

specifically for BMW cars.

-Inside secrets on maintaining, preserving and caring for your BMW. Find

out how to properly wash and wax your car without damaging the paint, and

how to reset the service indicator lights.

-Driving techniques ranging from basic car control to choosing apexes on

the track. Discover whether your car understeers or oversteers, and how

weight transfer affects traction and vehicle dynamics.

-Learn the difference between torque and horsepower, how to select the

right tires for your BMW, which performance modifications work and which

ones don't.

Organized and indexed for quick access and easy use, this book contains extensive driving and performance tuning information. Favorite articles and series are bundled together, such as On Driving and Shade Tree Topics.

"BMW Enthusiast's Companion" is a must-have for all BMW owners and enthusiasts.

3 out of 5 stars Not my first choice   March 9, 2008
Not my first choice when looking for E30 info. Somewhat a compilation of owner comments and very old tech articles. There are much, much better books out there such as the Bentley repair manual, the E30 restoration bible, the 3 series history and others. Keep looking and don't spend your money here first.

4 out of 5 stars GOOD IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER BMW   July 11, 2006

Interesting reading, but geared more to the older cars

2 out of 5 stars Enthusiasts guide review - for older cars   February 27, 2006
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

Found many of the articles dated over ten years old and where some withstand the test of time, most are relative to the older, now very used cars.
Rate a 2 star due to historical perspective

Caveat Emptor

3 out of 5 stars Good for "old school"   November 18, 2004

This is a well established book with a very credible track record, however, it is misleading having the hood of a BMW E36 on the cover. The E36 is a modern BMW by all standards; this book has about three two-paragraph articles on that car while all the other stories and pages pertain to the E30 (1983-1992) and earlier cars. If you are the owner or if you are fascinated with how to work on cars older than 15 years, this book is for you.

1 out of 5 stars Book for old BMW's   October 18, 2004

Forget this book unless you own a pre 2000 BMW. Most, if not all, of the information provided can be found on the web. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
