Product Description #1 New York Times bestseller Nicholas Sparks turns his unrivaled talents to a new tale about love found and lost, and the choices we hope we'll never have to make.
Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life - boating, swimming , and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies -- he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door.
Spanning the eventful years of young love, marriage and family, THE CHOICE ultimately confronts us with the most heartwrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

Thought Provoking Storyline.......... July 1, 2008 Travis Parker has everything a man could have, a wonderful job(veternarian)and great friends and a beautiful home:enters Gabrielle Holland a young lady who moves in next door and the sparks fly immediately with them:She started in on him about his dog impregnating hers.It was eventually found out that his dog did not impregnated hers.Everything comes to a blow when he invites her along with his friends to go on his boat. The first part of the book deals with them realizing their attraction and her fighting it by continuing saying to him she has boyfriend. In the end Gabrielle realizes that she is falling in love with him and have to make a decision if to stay with Kevin who she knows forever or go with something thats new and unknown. A really great read, this story will have you tearing up.
A Beautiful Love Story June 30, 2008 As you can see by the many 5 star reviews...this is a great book! It is such a sweet love story. I listened to the audio version on my way to/from work and the reader really did a great job. I laughed a lot and sometimes cried so hard I had to pull over because my heart ached for Travis and Gabby. I am not a crier but this novel really touched me. Bottom line--- read it, you won't regret it.
The Choice June 29, 2008 This book held my attention from the first page...as does every Nicholas Sparks novel. It was a surprise for me b/c nobody in this book died but there was still that same sense of loss. Travis and Gabby are wonderful characters and I loved how they were brought together. I found Travis to be a wonderful man who loves life and lives it how he chooses. Gabby is a great woman who's always tried to live up to the expectations of others before, finally, realizing she has to live for what she wants. Stephanie,Travis' sister, was incredible. I loved her and I admired her for telling Travis like it is and making see that he had to go on with his life.
I must say the book turned into a happy surprise and I loved all the back story leading up to it. This book isn't one of my favorites but it's still a great book just the same. I can't wait to read the next novel. Great job,Mr. Sparks.
Ok, But Writing Style Botchy June 17, 2008 This is a typical Sparks story. What I didn't like was all the detail written about the main characters meeting and courtship, then bam... time flies ahead 11 years. The story then has to back track to let the reader know what happened before as Sparks writes about what is happening. It shuffles way too much. It would have been more powerful if he kept it in chronological order.
Yawn.... June 12, 2008 The Choice was a disappointment. A big disappointment.
The writing is amateur & the story line is predictable...and at times just plain confusing. Sequencing is a lost art??
I mostly was bummed with this book b/c I've enjoyed his past work. Hoping for future compelling reads from this author.
