| Editorial Reviews:
Book Description You see the drivers every week in their logo-covered, fire-retardant jumpsuits, doing backflips after winning a race. You see them on ESPN, their cars speeding past in a blur, lap after lap, and you read about them in newspapers, magazines, and on the Internet. You hear them interviewed and watch them on commercials for everything from pizza to cell phones. Now, for the first time, you can see the drivers as they actually live. Portraits of NASCAR brings you into their dens, kitchens, and living rooms, providing a relaxed and intimate at-home look at the private lives of your favorite NASCAR drivers. In stunning black-and-white photography and accompanying text, youll see them relaxing with their wives and children, youll learn about their hobbies and outside interests, and youll learn what they enjoy outside the frenetic pace of their demanding racing careers. Youll get a firsthand look at the beauty and closeness of the motorsports family and how those ties bring strength and support to these incredibly talented people.

Not Enough Info April 28, 2008 The book photo's were great but not enough info on the drivers and their lifestyles to me it was more like a photo ablum.
Portraits of NASCAR - April 19, 2008 Great Photography......not much history. More script on life of NASCAR racers would have been better.
Beautiful Photography April 15, 2008 The photograpy in this book is quite beautiful and if you are a NASCAR fan most of it is self explanatory. I would have liked to see a little more text to go with the photos.
Portraits of NASCAR: An Intimate Look Inside the Private Lives of the Most Famous Drivers of NASCAR April 15, 2008 This book was more than I expected. The pictures are wonderful & it is bigger than I thought it would be.
Disappointing April 2, 2008 There is nothing intimate in this book. There are three or four pages of each driver and nothing personal. I would call these publicity shots. For example, they show Tony Stewart outside his house and not much of his house at that. How about some pictures with his cats at the very least? I was really looking forward to this book but didn't even enjoy looking through it. I am a huge Nascar fan and can find more personal pictures on the web than in this book. Very, very disappointing. I have already donated the book to the public library.
