Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Above All Co. The Forearm Forklift moving straps were designed in 1997 by a professional mover who is still very active in the industry. After many years "on the truck" he felt compelled to invent a tool that actually eliminated the risk of floor damage. A claim that only the Forearm Forklift can make since the dolly and hand truck require the rolling of wheels on your sensitive floors. Coincidentally, he also designed them ergonomically to encourage proper lifting techniques and body mechanics. They are actually the first and only OSHA accepted moving tool ever to reduce potential injuries due to heavy and repetitive lifting.

Benefits:
Reduces weight of item being carried by 66%
Creates handles on any hard-to-handle pieces
Great for going up and down most stairs or truck ramps
Tight turning radius (excellent for 90 degree turns in hallways and switchbacks in staircases)
Will never scratch wood floors, break tile, stain carpets or rip vinyl (linoleum)

The Forearm Forklift was awarded "Best New Product of the Year 1999" by the Industrial Equipment News whose constituents are solely top professionals in the business.

5 out of 5 stars Definately worth the money   August 25, 2008
These helped out tremendously when we moved. We moved mattresses, box frames, entertainment center, the refrigerator, and a very heavy treadmill. It helps since you can maneuver around with them while they "float."

A lady friend of ours helped move the treadmill just to try them out. Not sure about going up/down stairs, but i'd imagine it would be easier if you position the item higher by using the 3rd lowest arm hole.

3 out of 5 stars helps get the job done   August 20, 2008
This product definitely makes the lifting seem much less, especially if it hurts your fingers to lift heavy furniture. You get a great hold on objects. It's really hard going up and down stairs or ramps, though, because you can't seem to get the right posture.

5 out of 5 stars You can't beat the price!   August 13, 2008
These straps work great. They are the same ones sold at double this price elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars moving still stinks, but at least it doesn't hurt   August 11, 2008

These straps are pretty cool, and once you get them set up properly on your arms, you'll be surprised how easy it is to lift dressers and other heavy furniture you previously had to struggle with.
I agree that these do work very well, and for a product under $20 they have saved me a lot of hassle. My dad couldn't stop laughing the first time he used them- a previously troublesome cabinet became a breezy 1 minute move. The ease of maneuvarability made our footing much better as we had to step over rolled up carpets and other construction equipment (you should always make sure your path is clear... you know, for safety.)

However, here are things the Forearm forklifts cannot do or issues I've noticed:
1) It does not make you instantly super-strong. You're still going to be team lifting a very heavy object- if you couldn't lift it before, you won't be able to lift it now. The product helps you lift with larger muscle groups, saves your hands the stress of holding up the object amd allows you to move furniture in a more "back-safe" way, but it doesn't grant the user super-strength (duh).

2) The straps really make it so that you need a third person to help with doors and or navigation (especially up and down stairs). Y'know that trick where you prop the object with your thigh while you turn and push a door open? Well these handy lifting straps essentially lash you to the object, restricting your hands from doing anything but guiding the object you're lifting (which is probably safer, anyway).

Really, a great moving product. Every able bodied group of friends and family should have a pair or two.

5 out of 5 stars Believe or not these actually work!!!   July 11, 2008
I used them to move furniture around, helped friends move furniture, washers dryers and we I love it. My girlfriend had no problem helping me move a heavy wash machine!!! Don't try to use them up/down the stairs as it's not practical. My friends are now asking to borrow them when moving heavy stuff around. This is a great find and I'm extremely happy with them!
