Product Description Michelin Pro3 Race 700x23 Gray/Black TR8716 Michelin Pro 3 Race carries on the storied legacy of Michelin clincher road racing tires. It's the 3rd generation of the only clincher tire ever to be ridden to victory at Paris-Roubaix -- a race notoriously unforgiving to anything but fat tubulars. With the Pro 3 Race, Michelin specifically ups the ante when it comes to grippiness. According to Michelin tests, the Pro 3 gives you a 40% increase in cornering adhesion in comparison to the Pro 2 Race, along with a 20% improvement in straight-line grip. The benefits to this are pretty obvious: In a crit you can enter corners at greater speed with greater confidence. In a road race you can descend without hesitation. Its Silica Energy rubber compound is made in a "dual co-extrusion", which along with its 127tpi casing makes the Pro 3 Race feel as fast as it really is. One added standout quality of the Pro 3 Race is its flat resistance -- again, think about Paris-Roubaix. On the one hand you get their newly-redesigned "High Density Puncture Protection" to resist glass, staples, and other road garbage. But you also get sidewalls that -- at least to us -- have a long, long track record of blowout-resistance. Boulder-Roubaix, Batenkill, Rouge-Roubaix, or any other gravel-happy ride: Michelin is always our first choice. Available in 700x23 only, in a wide variety of colors

No Hassle road Race tire February 12, 2010 Peter Saucerman (Sacramento, ca United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Put these tires on bike. Ride 2000 miles. Repeat. All of 2 flats in 2 sets - that's it. Light, tough, puncture resistant when properly inflated (110-115 psi). Joe-bob sez: check em out.
Great tire January 15, 2010 John Cocktosen (brooklyn, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Switched from Specialized to Michelin tires and so far am very happy. I'd say I've put about 600 miles on them with no problems. Rough pavement, wet, dry, several NYC potholes and so far so good. I have Easton EA90 wheels and had no problems putting these on.
Beautifully made tire December 26, 2009 Robert C. Haag (Chattanooga, TN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased these tires to mount on my 2010 Orbea Orca. Always have liked Michelins but had to buy these with the orange sidewall as the Orca is in our "Donner Party" (a RAGBRAI group)team colors of black, orange and white. Obviously got the orange sidewall. Look awesome. Only gave it 4 stars cause I haven't put enough miles on them to fairly rate the performance of the tire.
They were hard to mount on my Campagnola Nucleons. Had to use tire irons to get them on, something I really prefer not to do.
Short life October 4, 2009 K. Ohumukini 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Put about 500 miles on these tires with no problems. Light and responsive, colors are great. But, 5 Miles into a century ride and boom, hole so big that the tube stuck out. Nothing in the hole so it was in and out. I expected these to be a little more durable on a relatively clean road. I can't recommend these for long rides or more than 500 miles. For the price there's better options.
Good Tires September 10, 2009 Scott 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've put about 700 miles on these tires and I have some pretty severe cuts on them due to the riding surface. Some of the cuts were large enough to have some shell chips stuck in the cuts that caused a couple flat tires. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and there is a lot of blowing sand and sea shell chips are used in the pavement mix. I also rode in Wyoming along some freshly chip sealed roads. I added some tire liners during the last tube change which seems to bring the tires back to their invincible status. This is only the second tire change I've done on my bike so far and wanted to try the Michelins to see if I could detect any difference between them and the Continentals I was riding on before. The Michelins seemed smoother and tracked better but had worse durability by my experience. Overall I liked the tires a lot. I feel like any tire under my recent riding conditions would have had the same problems.
