Good tool, had problems, worked out fine May 4, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It provides plenty of air for painting and nailing, etcetera. It runs with much less frequency than my smaller unit and won't wake the neighbors if you leave on over night. I've not had any breaker tripping and minimal light dimming. I have had it for 7 months using it lightly but regularly. It grew louder and in short time started spaying oil out the pressure switch and air intake (blow by). I called the service number and they were out in a week with a new pump and all is fine. I missed it when it was down resorting to my framing compressor. I'd buy it again. Take this into consideration there is a fair investment in filters, gauges, shut offs and couplings to get this machine operable.
Pleased with compressor but not with Amazon August 4, 2006 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I received the compressor, but no electrical cord and nothing in the instructions to indicate how to connect it. I called the P-C 800 number and it took another two weeks to get a cord, except it had the wrong connecting pieces. I adapted it to get the compressor running. It's quiet and looks like it will do the job; however, it did not have an adaptor for the standard hose, so I still can't use it. So now it's back to Home Depot to get an adaptor. I'd not usually write this up, except for the fact that I bought a lathe duplicator a couple months ago also from Amazon and it was missing the universal adaptor that when I called the factory, they said Amazon had bought several of the duplicators but without the universal adaptor, even thou the instructions with it and on their web site said it fit all lathes with the adaptor. The factory rep recommended I box it up and send back to Amazon, which I didn't do, but made my own adaptors to fit my lathe. I've bought lots of things from Amazon and have been pleased overall; however, it appears the tool area needs improvement. It's frustrating to have to make adjustments and/or buy additional pieces to make the tools I've bought from them work. After I get some experience with the compressor, I'll update this review.
So far so good April 8, 2004 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I've had this compressor for about a year and like it. It was ready to go after adding the oil which was included. I bought it when I switched to air tool sanding and it easily keeps up with that job. The drain is a little hard access. The manual advises you to releive the air pressure though the quick relief valve, automatically down to about 10PSI, then opening the water drain and closing the valve before restarting.
pump bearings leaking after one year of light duty use May 16, 2003 31 out of 36 found this review helpful
after one year of light duty use pump bearing leaking oil and fly wheel belt won't ride true . unit now in shop waiting for parts, down time three to four weeks, had to borrow small compressor from family member. I would not recomend this compressor at all. A better compressor would be home depots huskey 60 gal a much better built unit at 399.00 pump is solid cast iron and the tubing is copper vs alumium that poter cable uses .I think poter cable should stick to building beltsanders, routers,& sawzalls
too much January 5, 2003 30 out of 36 found this review helpful
