WASTED MY MONEY!!! June 14, 2007 I used only 3-4 times and it doesn't clean as good as it advertised!!! WHAT A WAST OF MONEY!!!
The soap leaves a film on your car, Still have to dry June 10, 2007 I do not know how anyone can say this product works. The commercials show a man using the product on a black sports car, and it dries like new. I have a black Cobalt and used this product for the first time today, in the shade, and in 74 degree weather. I followed to instructions exactly and after rinsing I noticed the soap had left a white film all over my car! The water was drying spotless but the soap wasn't. The water also wasn't drying "before my eyes" either. I still had to end up going over my car with a cloth to remove the soap film. After I use all this I will not be buying a refill, if I even use it again. Luckily this was a gift or it would be going back to the store!
Does what it claims to do, but a bit pricey April 5, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you follow the instructions, it works as advertised: work in the shade, clean and rinse small areas at a time, try to keep what you've finished wet, and after the de-ionized final rinse, let the car dry in the shade. This was a cloudy day, and when done, I immediately moved the car back into the garage.
The main advantage of the AutoDry is that you don't have to dry the car to avoid waterstains (calcium deposits), and it's better than 99% effective in fulfilling that claim. There were a couple of tiny places where water beaded afterwards, and rather than finding out whether it was tap water or de-ionized water, I patted those areas dry in less than a minute.
The reason for giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the $30 price: for $20, you can get the plain starter package, without the "bonus kit", and I should have done that. The extras are only worthwhile if you use the extra items: a washing/soaping mitt, a tire-cleaning brush, and a small Swifter to remove interior dust. The mitt's nice, but not worth $10. Putting the $10 towards a big sponge and a "California duster" with a mini-duster may be a better use of the "bonus" money, and the "duster" doesn't need refills, but the Swifter does.
It'll cost less in the long run to use the AutoDry and buy its soap & filter refills, than to pay $15 at the carwash, so the question is how you want to spend your time: it took me about an hour, including setup/teardown, to wash the car, which is about the time it would take to drive to the carwash, have it cleaned, and drive back home. The car looks cleaner & shinier to me after using the AutoDry than after the last carwash, and I got a bit of exercise instead of browsing the carwash's gadget wall.
Awesome Car Washing Tool January 11, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Terrific product, had my doubts about the spot free rinse and no drying but this product works! Case is nice so you can store the unit.

A friend from our local Harley shop told me about this product. It does a fantastic job on our Harley's. Now, can't wait to use on our 'cages'.
